Sad to see him go, he and Mansell transformed the attitude in the dressing room and his partnership with Brown will be missed. Best of luck for him

Thanks AM, enjoyed watching you play, intelligent footballer. I can only think DC wants more pace? Did you read the article? He was offered two contracts, DC wanted him. Blimey two contracts that's more than MM dished out to the likes of Kenneth, I guess it meant two offers.
You'd have thought by now the OS would have confirmed, or denied, the story and thanked him for his services if he his living?

You can't really knock a guy who comes in, plays all season, wins promotion and then leaves. Cheers Bob, you'll always be welcome back at Rovers.

I cannot find that he has signed elsewhere, only that he has rejected the offer, in which case I hope DC can ask again. I thought he was outstanding last season and really hoped he would sign another 1year contract. Would not surprise me if he returned to Hartlepool, the fans up there would love him back.
AM - if you read this Forum - Sincere thanks for your contribution to the return of our football club to the League.

An excellent player. We will need to think quite hard about how we replace him. He offered composure in the last 3rd and the ability to change the pace of the game. He also had a good footballing brain, was a very awkward customer and defended very well. That's quite a lot to replace and it won't come from an Adam Dawson type. As eye catching as those type of wingers are they often lack in other areas. You need balance - you can't just have two attacking wingers on the flanks anymore. I think Monkhouse may be one of the hardest players to replace in our squad - not many players do what he does.

Good luck to Andy Monkhouse....I thought he was a consistent and important part of the team. Played a major part in getting us back into the Football League.

There always seems to be a fascination with having to have 2 'wingers' playing wide but he is a great example of a very influential wide midfielder. I struggle to remember a time where we had such cohesion on the left side as we did with Brown and Monkhouse. Will be missed.

Very sad news in Bristol post that Andy Monkhouse actually wanted to stay but could agree a deal with DC. I think that is a mistake on DC,s side and, whilst I have no issues with bone likes of Balanta going, I question is judgement on this one.

It's starting to become a concern we seem the only club not signing players, I can't imagine Monkey wanted mega bucks as I doubt many Div 2 or Conference sides are going to be offering him a big wage at his wage.

Based on the report in the post I know he wanted to stay. I suspect, given that he took conference wages last season and knows he has a limited shelf life, his demands would not have been extraordinary. You are of course correct, I don't know what he wanted, but I am allowed an opinion and that remains the same.

You are indeed allowed an opinion. I'm also allowed to have the opinion that your opinion is a load of rubbish, because you have nothing to base it on.
