Spoke to Brown's parents at Birmingham away and they spoke very highly of the club and it's support and they both joined in with Irene regularly in broad London accents. Pleased he's signed a new deal, as good as a new signing and not really one of the issues last year. Hopefully he can take more set pieces like Wycombe.

I think playing under DC will benefit Browner, can deliver excellent crosses, hopefully will build an excellent partnership with whoever plays on the left.

Very happy with this, good decision for all concerned. Let's hope his loyalty can be rewarded.

One of the better players at the club and one of the very, very few I would have been happy to keep. As mentioned earlier on here, best news so far this summer.

Great news. Lets hope we can hold on to Mildenhall, Smith, Lockyer, Parkes and McCrystal then at least we have a basis to work on. The key to success will be in bringing in some creativity although personally I would still like to see another tough experienced central defender come in. I very much hope that we get a couple of experienced central midfielders and the three wingers that DC has spoke about getting. Good Conference players backed up with some experienced League players will bring a successful season.

Very good news, could easily play at league 1 level and probably one of the top 5 left backs of League 2. He's 24 so playing one season in the conference isn't going to damage his career, and the loyalty he has shown will look good on his CV. He's made 138 appearances for us and by this time next year that could rise to 180, not bad for such a young player.

Lee Brown has committed his future to Bristol Rovers by signing a new deal.
The defender, 23, turned down a number of Football League clubs to stay at the Memorial Stadium.
Manager Darrell Clarke said: “I am absolutely delighted that Lee has committed himself to Bristol Rovers.
“He has turned down interest from League clubs, and I am really pleased I could persuade him to stay.
“He was one of our more consistent players last season, and his assist rate and the creation of goals from his position was very important.
“He will be an integral part of the team for next season.”
Meanwhile, club chairman Nick Higgs said: “I am very pleased that Lee has decided to stay with the club. He was one of the bright sparks last year in a back four that was largely effective.
“Although we will be bringing in new faces, it is good to retain some stability at the club.”

Speaking to the Official Website Brown said "I'm delighted to sign a new deal, I'm doing it for free next season because I love the Gas and f**king hate the s**t". He then burst into a chorus of "My old man" before flicking the vees at Toni Watola.
What a bloke.

I believe we actually had the best defence below the top 12 last season which just goes to show how bad our attack was! Keeping the back four together (5 including Mildenhall) will be fantastic for us.

That's the 9 out of 10 misplaced set pieces sorted then.

The people at the club running the playing side are obviously doing a lot of things very well. If Lee Brown and his parents speak warmly of the club then why oh why can't we migrate the same attitude and culture to EVERY part of the club. So frustating.

Lee Brown on Youtube
- Not difficult to sign. Other people getting in his ear about taking up other offers.
- Other people don't know the connection I have with Bristol Rovers
- Fans have treated him really well. Big factor in him staying.
- Had offers from league clubs with higher £'s. Difficult to turn down of course. Have to show grit to say no to that.
