lets face it we bottled it and missed out on winning the league which barnet handed us on a plate. eastleigh at home,we allowed eastleigh to push us around and hem us into our own half for far to much of the game,,,,, macclesfield away,,despite being a much better team than them and even allowing for a strong wind we failed to dominate and beat opposition that were already on the slide. dover we allowed them to score a late goal and snatch a draw which virtually sealed our play-off participation. for me those 3 games each gave us a chance to put the league into our own hands and we failed each time. despite a very good season by manager and players i really do fear that we will bottle the play-offs just like we did in run in for the title.

We did bottle it last week. Need to put that right on Wednesday and deliver a performance under real pressure.
Go out and play, don't sit deep and hoof it.

Every team can point to matches throughout the season that have cost them come the end of the season. Lets hope we can produce 3 good performances in now, which should be enough to get us promoted.

Maybe we did bottle it. We were never going to win EVERY game.
To be so far behind (11 points at one stage) just to get a chance of the title shows spirit and character. But to be honest, Barnet led for many, many months and are deserved winners.
At least we got a few more games. That's more revenue for the club no one bargained for, more tv coverage, more marketing and profile raised. What with everything going on over the river, their season and limelight will be over this time next week. So may ours. But, just if, a mighty if, if we get to Wembley, we'll steal the attention from them and Bristol will have Wembley fever all over again....for the right reasons! Paint the town blue.
So, even though we may have bottled it as you put it, every cloud...

Chester away, we were 2-0 up but it ended 2-2. Both Dover games ended 1-1 and both games we were winning 1-0 into the final minutes and both games we let a goal in. Woking away ended 0-0 but I remember Taylor scoring a goal that got disallowed for offside even though it was a Woking player who hit the ball to him so couldnt have been offside. Thats 4 games we should have won and not drew. We also drew away at Alfreton and Dartford who both got relegated. Should never been held at those games either. Thats 6 draws that should have been wins and a further 12 points for us.
We drew too many game because at the start of the season we showed too much respect to the opposition in away games, we were too negative and we were not good enough in attack, lacking a creative spark.
All ifs and buts. We are where we are, lets not look back but look forward and get behind the team.
Forest Green and Eastleigh who went on good runs at the end and got into the play offs are high in confidence and will be hoping that us and Grimsby will have our heads down as we failed to win the league. We need to make sure we are ready. Looking back at where it went wrong now wont help us.

Not sure if he came on as a 2nd half sub but doesn't matter how many of those players we have left, us fans are still here, we still know what to expect, the same with some of the back room staff, it all helps

No doubt the lads will be up for it imo. They all pretty much knew they lost is at Dover but picked themselves up to produce arguably the most savage display I've ever seen from the gas.

Different types of pressure and atmosphere if you get what I mean. 2) The 2 games against them were early in the season where were were still finding our feet. Since then we have been on a very good run and improved a hell of a lot.

We need to make our home leg count. Make the mem the loudest, most intimidating cauldron. Get right on it as if we were playing the 82ers.

Bottled it? I wouldn't say so.
In the last 5 games we comfortably beat our opponenenfs with little or no worry & the only down point in 450 minutes of football was that last 5 minutes, against a Dover side that didn't have any attempts on our goal all day long.
Letting one slip in the 88th minute that day was disappointing, devastating, whatever you want to call it but 'bottling it' is so wide mark of the mark it is laughable.
