Bottled it? I wouldn't say so. In the last 5 games we comfortably beat our opponenenfs with little or no worry & the only down point in 450 minutes of football was that last 5 minutes, against a Dover side that didn't have any attempts on our goal all day long. Letting one slip in the 88th minute that day was disappointing, devastating, whatever you want to call it but 'bottling it' is so wide mark of the mark it is laughable. but we had 3 clear chances to put ourselves in the driving seat,,,eastleigh macclesfield and dover but couldnt produce?

I really hope that we can finally produce the goods when it really matters and go up, because after what happened v Mansfield it would start to look like a very bad habit. We did well to catch Barnet but each and every time we managed to put our fate back into our own hands we faltered.

Not sure we bottled it, last week at Dover DC got his tactics wrong with three up top, and no width, and the boys made a mistake in the last five minutes; however, they now know whats its like to taste disappointment and will not want to taste it again. FGR will be tough, but over two legs with the second leg being at home, I would be surprised if we do not make it to Wembley. UTG

lets face it we bottled it and missed out on winning the league which barnet handed us on a plate. eastleigh at home,we allowed eastleigh to push us around and hem us into our own half for far to much of the game,,,,, macclesfield away,,despite being a much better team than them and even allowing for a strong wind we failed to dominate and beat opposition that were already on the slide. dover we allowed them to score a late goal and snatch a draw which virtually sealed our play-off participation. for me those 3 games each gave us a chance to put the league into our own hands and we failed each time. despite a very good season by manager and players i really do fear that we will bottle the play-offs just like we did in run in for the title.Crikey, this isn`t like you, Mr 1973. You usually feel that we`re only a couple of signings away from being a Champions League side. Perhaps you need some of Katy`s anti-depressants. I don`t think we bottled it. The crucial two points, that would have taken us up, were thrown away at Dover simply due to the manager`s half witted game plan. Nothing to do with lack of bottle from the players. It was a lack of proper direction from the manager. Will Clarke come up with a competent system for getting us past FG, or will it be another dog`s dinner of a formation, with the comically useless Blissett up front? I wouldn`t like to guess. Like the rest of us, I can but hope. To me, Eastleigh at 4/1 to go up, look the best bet.

It happens. Macclesfield deserved a draw against us. It was a fair result. Dover was different, in that the manager didn`t give us a proper chance of claiming the points that would have taken us up. I don`t know what to make of Clarke. He drops players out of the squad altogether, and when you`ve just about forgotten about that player, he suddenly reappears in the starting line up. Gosling was a case in point on Saturday. But he`s done it with others, such as Blissett and Ollie Clarke. Ultimately, I don`t think that Clarke had it in him to keep us up, and i don`t think he has it in him to take us up. But you`ve no idea how much I want him to prove me wrong.

If you analyse the season as a whole I think the opposite is true.
Sure the last minute Dover goal was a kick in the guts but we lost it in the first week.
After 3 games we were 8 points behind Barnet. Since then we have been the best team in the league.
So stop feeling sorry for yourselves you miserable old buggers and let's go to FGR KNOWING we are the best.
Positive heads only this week.

13 points from the last 15 under pressure is really bottling it! Even then it would have been maximum points if it wasn't for the ref.

Yes lets go into the FGR games confident of our ability to beat and contain any side put in front of us. Whilst play off games are a bit different to league games we have the ability to hold, contain and then strike against our opposition. We have two major differences to our team since we lost to FGR and Eastleigh....the undoubted ability of Chris Lines and a vastly improved in form Ellis Harrison who appears to also be having a positive effect on Matty Taylor. I'm not saying we are going to win because I'm not going to disrespect the other 3 teams in the play offs but I have every confidence that we have the players and the management team to deliver our return to the Football League. Come on Rovers, lets believe we can do this !!!

Oddly our season could rest on two goalkeeping mistakes, against Eastleigh Mildenhall had a complete shocker, once we went 1 down if was virtually game over & against Dover if Puddy had chosen not to catch the cross we'd have probably won. Against Macclesfield we weren't at our best but we were never going to win 10+ successive games anyway. Not sure that's bottling it our just being unlucky but that's been the case ever since NH took over as Chairman, let's hope our luck changes on & off the pitch in the next month.

Don't forget Mildy's f**k up at Dartford. Another two points dropped. Saying that I don't think we bottled it. The fact is Barnet are now a bigger club than us in all but attendances but that doesn't seem to affect their spending power. We were never going to catch them and they have a bright future ahead of them with their new stadium. We can but dream. As for FGR, I can see us hammering them. The bigger test will be who we get at Wembley but even then I am certain we will go up.
