Just some real ale for me please, and maybe a decent sandwich. If you could reserve me a table by the window that would be great, I should be down there about 11ish. I'll speak to our suppliers one of which is Matthew Clarke who i do believe are based in Bristol. If not I'll scour for another decent dry cider

Rex, you'd better book a table near the toilet with the speed you drink at!

Fussy lot us Gasheads. I have been very impressed this season with the initiatives shown by landlords ~ best of luck to them. Hope the back garden is large enough for 1500 Gasheads.... Glad to see you are getting extra staff in. A few pubs I have been in at away games have got caught out. The beer garden is easily big enough for 1500 fans, Palace managed to fit 2200 in there! Its a nice pub run by nice staff with a decent BBQ

Oh, there's a nibble. Why get bothered by it? I mean, if they win their games we're irrelevent. The fact they're looking over their shoulder is dead cute.

I presume they are saying 'no one needed an extra barrel of beer when we ALL went to Dover'?

Just like to say thanks to The Cricketers, lovely garden and proper Blackthorn as promised! How many burgers did you eat from the BBQ? But yeh top pub, just a random one but when pubs are that busy why dont they have 1 or 2 bar staff just constantly pouring pints of popular products so they're ready to go? Or does that breach some kind of licensing laws?

Or does that breach some kind of licensing laws? Regularly used to do this in certain pubs in Ireland when I was there 20 years ago, but then it was all Guinness - in fact you would also ask for the next pint ot be poured after ordering the first. Now it has gone all "fancy", I doubt this happens much.

Great venue and friendly staff but really could have done with a few more to serve the masses who were there but no real complaints, we even drank them out of Thatchers ! Goodness knows how many burgers and chips they must have sold. As someone said to me that must have been the most Bristolians in Dover since D-Day in 1944 !
