Having a bad hair day brizzle That's it exactly, swiss. I was trying to post a picture of Gwyn Jones, which barleycorn had requested. I'd actually found (against all the odds) a picture of Gwyn, but my serious lack of computer expertise saw me sadly fall at the last fence. The spirit was willing, but the flesh quite weak so to speak. Must do better.

Carl Gilbert was my favourite player at the time too, I was gutted when he went to Rotherham for a paltry £18,000 (back in the days when transfer fees were disclosed. Yes of course 'Billy Ocean' dod have great hairstyle as well, I also quite like Jason 'psycho' Perry's hair with the bandage! MIDDLE ROW,EXTREME LEFT,Carl Gilbert. Attachments:

The young Marcus had a good head of hair - it always amazed me that he could even see the ball, let alone play as well as he did.

Everyone's dad had a haircut like Terry Oldfield's in the early 60's Bridgeman. I nominate Alex Munro The 'Baron' had a fantastic barnet for the 60's too, but Alex's was unique, them were the days...awww Alfie Bigg's quiff typified the late 1950s to early 1960s, so it must be a strong contender surely? Mind you he was rather suave and sophisticated all-round, so he was well named ''The Baron of Eastville.'' As for Alex we have to be careful (and the word unique is quite appropriate by the way), but are we talking pre or post ''rug?'' I remember his own hair to be perfectly adequate but ordinary, but then came the ageing process and the next thing that we knew was that he was on the back page of the Evening Post advertising Crown Toppers. But does a ''rug'' qualify, that's the question that has to be answered. By the way I loved Alex cos he was wild, unpredictable and a complete and utter character. Quite a good player too as it happens, but he wouldn't be tolerated in the modern game. Too much of a wild card, a man of his time.

Carl Saunders had a great frizzy bomb of a Barnet. Marcus Stewart and the headband was controversial. But you can't beat Gerry Francis and his badger haircut Gerry's hair was great..if you want to smile tonight watch the Witney Houston video...I wanna dance with somebody I'm sure Gerry is one of the male dancers..A couple of classic clips of Gerry dancing in this video so watch it all.......!

I always admired the John Rudge quiff, and how closely it resembled that of Bobby Charlton.

Ah, Bobby Charlton's ''comb-over'' quiff, which was latterly (and shamelessly) copied by our own John Rudge. Speaking of Bobby Charlton's hair, he had a perfectly good head of it when he was a contestant on ''Double Your Money.'' Perhaps it was the stress of it all.

Carl Gilbert was my favourite player when I was a youngster. Due to him having blonde hair and mine was blonde at that time (mine's rapidly turning white again now!). I remember that. Him down one wing and blond Kenny Stephens down the other. Them were the days Don't recall Gilbert on the wing, remember Dobson and Stephens on the wings.Thought Gilbert was up front number 10 but it was a while ago. Do remember him missing a chance at Villa in the cup to put us one up near the end, they then got a last minute winner

in my head he was right wing. Another blondie at the same time was Ray, before his Greydoom period

Gerry Francis, hands down. You have to admire the fact that he has kept loyal to this style even nearly 30 years on
