Watched the highlights last night on bbc, they were deserved winners, but the bit that made me laugh was when the commentator said "there is seventy thousand in here and it's so quiet"

Are you surprised that I have no idea what you are trying to say? If your point is that players shouldn't command such high salaries, I've addressed that in an earlier reply. Start a workers' co-operative and exchange labour between yourselves, remember to let us know how it goes and don't forget to pay the tax that will be due on the invoice values that you have offset. Of course, you now have a problem as you will either need a sugar Daddy, and you wouldn't want that, or you will need to engage with the capitalist market that seems to be upsetting you. The reality is that market forces will prevail, and what's driving that market towards the upper end of the game is TV money. Lansdowne is trying to buy his way onto the big merry-go-round, you can like it, you can loathe it, but to resent their supporters enjoying the peaks of the ride seems rather churlish. Very selective my twisted friend. Politics as a hobby by any chance???
Not selective at all, nor politically driven, just trying to help you see why I'm struggling to understand whatever the point is that you are attempting to make.

I haven't claimed to be superior I merely inferred that you aren't. You said "I also have the intelligence not to profess love for a football club" in response to my reasoned point about why posters on here aren't jumping on your bandwagon to congratulate the s***heads. Being as many if not most on here clearly do love their football club you are calling it that you are superior to them, that you are a superior being than the rest of us who love our team.. It's either that or that you are simply a condescending , pompous twit. Which is it? This is getting boring now and rather like debating with a bag of cement...but in the interests of clarity I'll reiterate my sentiment re "loving" a football club or for that matter a night club, a favourite holiday resort, a treasured pair of socks, a collection of away programmes, all nonsense and not to be confused with loving parents, siblings, spouses, off spring, friends. in summary, you support a sports team sometimes passionately but you love those close to you, if you've confused the emotions I feel truly sorry for you and suggest you get a life.

Didn't someone say something about FFP?), but Lansdowne is actually making more than enough each year to, without eroding his capital, compete with the likes of Stoke and Newcastle.

I'll never forget this one time back in the early nineties we were away at Plymouth and they still had the old style cages in front of the away end. Anyway we were getting absolutely tonked and the ball came in the gas enclosure, so some joker's only gone and held onto the ball hasn't he? After a minute or two of gasheads playing keepsies with the match day ball Parkin climbs up the bl00dy hoarding leans over and screams into the Gas end "we're lossing as it is now give us the f**king ball back".
I'll never forget that ... anyone else like to chat about Rovers? ... No? ... Oh .... night then.

Mr Glum was probably envious that the fan's were playing better than him!

I associate Reading with the orange ball in snow on Boxing Day ... or was that Brentford?

You can call it what you like, all I know is the emotion and effort I have expended for my football club and the joy and misery they have caused me,just proves I have an emotional attachment and I love them,i am not in love with them like I am my wife and children, more like the same love I have for my dog. There are different levels of love and different types of love but it is still love and I got plenty to go around

Reading (elm park) holds a few memories for me. One where police decided to push everyone around one year and nick loads.
I roll Parkin-gate along with that.
It's a long time ago, so quite feasibly Plymouth, either way both were a good cider day out, which kinda clouds the memory!

the bottom line is this. they are a bunch of utterly graceless, witless ****. That banner, the blue plaque on the war memorial gates, burning down Twerton Park's Grandstand, ripping down hoardings on 2nd May and having a pop at their own manager, pitch invasion live on Sky in late-90's, ditto for JPT a few years ago, etc. It just goes on and on. Some of their fans REALLY do hate us and hate the fact that we are a local club that they cannot get rid of. Oh I see, so it wasn't Rovers' supporters attacking a Police horse last May, it wasn't someone in amongst the Rovers' supporters attacking a Braintree player a couple of months back, I could go on and on. In fact, knock yourself out, photoshop these idiots and put City shirts on them, that's sure to make you feel better, www.bristolpost.co.uk/Wanted-Police-trying-trace-24-Bristol-Rovers-fans/story-21212335-detail/story.htmlEvery team has them. Yes, the Memorial plaque was defaced, but a group of their supporters were quick to publically condemn the act and they raised funds to put right the damage. I suspect that if you speak to the vast majority of City supporters you'll find they are almost normal At the moment they are so far ahead of us that they aren't even on our radar. Let them enjoy their moment, they are going to find it a lot harder competing with the big boys in the Championship. knee jerk bamber. I wrote "Some of their fans REALLY do hate us..." there is a massive difference between 1 fan at Braintree and burning down an entire stand. there is a massive difference between a few bad eggs and massive pitch invasions that are extremely aggressive and one of which saw 'fans' attacking players! The so-called fan who hit a horse said he hadn't been to a game for 20 years!

Apparently if they ever win it again they get to keep the paintbrush. I hope they win it next season.
