What is it with the lick City's arses brigade? If you admire the way that lot have gone about their business from 1982 to present day then you have a strange way of looking at fundamentals. And no, jealous I am certainly not. Nor am I a patronising Gashead with my head up my own arse.

What is funny is that no matter what thier team achieves this season we are always at the top of thier forum.
You'll never get rid of the gas!

When they hung a banner over the M32 gloating after we lost to Doncaster I thought it was pretty sad to be honest. Fair play to them, hope they enjoyed their day and they will go up as champions because they have the best team in the division. Hands up any Rovers' fan who would publically object if Higgs bought our way back into the League? That would mean refusing to support Lines or Easter as we were already set to make a loss this season before those 2 players arrived. Anyone? Thought not. But I'll stop short of congratulating the manager, he seems a bit of a thicko to me, it's all about money.

What they do is up to them, just like any other club. I never checked the result, forgot it was on until I was at Heathrow today and saw a supporters coach (self drive) on the link road into the airport, this morning, which made me laugh.

To be honest who gives a toss, all we care about at the moment is finishing top of the Conference and beating Sainsbury's in court. If we win both it might be us doing the same in a few years, by each time the 82ers may be back in Div 1.

Well it as taken Bristol City £70 million to get to the championship / JPT cup - yes I repeat £70 million. The balance sheets ending May 2013 was around £55 million debts of which a large sum was transfered into shares. Last season ending 2014 they lost £10 million and this season maybe a reduction on the £10-£13 average for the last few years.
Of course credit goes to SL for pumping ten of millions into the club. But lets be honest if any 3rd tier club lost this money they would be a Hereford by now.
Any team outside the top flight of English football would dream of this investment.

Spending the money Lansdown has is a given in the football world I'm not saying otherwise. And why would any a Rovers fan object if the boot is on the other foot? They wouldn't. Stupid thing to say. Wimbledon, Wigan and Yeovil I will admire from their non league days to present without a doubt. City? Do me a favour. and licking arse and patronising posts is just not me I'm afraid. Much praise for Steve cottril as he is an excellent manager!

Points West news just now interviewed some of their fans coming out of the ground.
"marvellous" said one herbert in reaction to the win "the best we've ever seen em play'"
Really? The best you've EVER seen em play wow!

I think SL realised a few years ago that he'd made a mistake in spending his way to success (or in his case failure!).
Now he's got a clear process of ground-building and team building in place, they are starting to see progress.
I bet his FD didn't wait until 20 minutes from the last game of the season to put things right!!!
Football is all about the money. They've got it, we haven't!

Much praise for Steve cottril as he is an excellent manager! I think you need to decide what your point is. Is it what happened in 1982, in which case I agree, shafting local businesses is poor form. But that's not what you are saying, you have said twice now 'since 1982', well, since then they have made huge losses, but you go on to say that you wouldn't object if Rovers did the same, so it's not very clear what you are attempting to demonstrate. Sounds like sour grapes to me. Their manager isn't the brightest spark, he'll get found out at the next level.

tbh, one of the most refreshing things about this season has been the lack of attention given to them while we try and sort out our own predicament. Long may it continue - I had a look at their team sheet this afternoon and genuinely had no idea who any of their players were.

I'd swap with them any day, ground, chairman, league position, players, JPT winners at Wembley...when all we've got to look forward to is maybe beating Sainsbury's because if we don't it'll be us going bust. And most of this thread is nothing more than envy, which I understand but let's not pretend it's anything else.
