I'm sure Oxongas like me will be just a little annoyed at these insulting comments about Welsh people. However much some of you may think it is clever or just banter just remember there are some of us who regularly post on here that live in Wales, have Welsh children and Welsh speaking grandchildren. It makes me ashamed to call myself a Bristolian when I hear such narrow minded views expressed on here or on the terraces. I was born in Bristol, brought up in Lockleaze, remained a loyal Gashead since I moved to Wales in 1967 but I'm b*ggered if I'm going to remain quiet while you insult my family. I'll meet you all in the car park after we beat Braintree and go top of the league tomorrow evening and you can kick the crap out of me then .....ps you'll easily recognise me I'll be wearing a shirt with blue and white quarters on (my arse will probably be blue and white at the end of it too )

Certianly beats many parts of Bristol as a place to live!

According to quite a few posts on here over the last few months he's on a 1 year deal and if we don't get promoted his deal won't be renewed in the summer. That would be short sighted in the extreme, all things considered.

Let's save the mindless personal abuse for people who live in the south Bristol.

That would be short sighted in the extreme, all things considered. DC is proving to be one of the best up and coming coaches around, one of the downsides for us in having him is that his name will undoubtedly be associated with every job that comes up. Never met the man ,but I get the impression he is very astute. He knows that promotion this year means the momentum of that success invariably keeps you going the following season, in which case his stock will have even more value. Ifs and buts, but if we are successful with the UWE and we are promoted, he will having the backing of the board and fans, where would he go that would offer more potential? If we are unsuccessful with the UWE , then enjoy him while we have him cos he won't be here for much longer after is my guess

Xenophobic maybe, but the Welsh aren't a race. define race what are celts then are they not a race? Welsh are celts surely Race wise, They are white (mainly) Europeans. The Celts died off many years ago, only to be revived in the 1920's by a load of bohemians, and later added to by people wearing bedsheets calling themselves druids

Equality Act 2010 Section 9:
9
Race. (1) Race includes— (a) colour; (b) nationality; (c) ethnic or national origins.
(2) In relation to the protected characteristic of race— (a) a reference to a person who has a particular protected characteristic is a reference to a person of a particular racial group; (b) a reference to persons who share a protected characteristic is a reference to persons of the same racial group.
(3) A racial group is a group of persons defined by reference to race; and a reference to a person's racial group is a reference to a racial group into which the person falls.
(4) The fact that a racial group comprises two or more distinct racial groups does not prevent it from constituting a particular racial group.
(5) A Minister of the Crown may by order—
(a) amend this section so as to provide for caste to be an aspect of race; (b) amend this Act so as to provide for an exception to a provision of this Act to apply, or not to apply, to caste or to apply, or not to apply, to caste in specified circumstances.
(6) The power under section 207(4)(b), in its application to subsection (5), includes power to amend this Act.

I think we can probably have a good guess at his contract status by whether he gets linked to this job through the press. If he isn't secure in having a contract for next year then this is an ideal opportunity for his agent to get hard at work linking his name to this job in order to try and force Rovers hand. If he isn't linked at all I think we can be pretty sure that he's quite relaxed in his current position.

Hello there! Newport fan in peace. So it looks as though we could be after your manager! Just a few questions... Is he popular at Bristol? What's his managerial style? Preferred formations, tactics etc How do you rate his team selection? Congratulations on your progress this year by the way. Hope to see you in league 2 next season! whoa.... steady on. 1) your last para answers your own question. There is a decent chance we could be in the same division next season. 2) Ask us what people at Bristol Rovers think of him rather than all bristol people. I imagine the red lot hate him as he has restored some law and order, and results to us. 3) Of course no-one REALLY knows his personal situation, ambition, house, salary etc etc, but seems unlikely you would pay more, given crowd sizes etc. He's already turned down Hartlepool (a team he played for for many years) and says he has unfinished business here. His stock is constantly rising. he would be mad to leave for Lge 2 now. Might as well wait. Bar losing 8-0 in a play-off semi-final to a team 15 points behind us in the lge, I doubt people will think he's a terrible manager whatever happens in the next few months. Sadly for you he will get more press being with us near top of Conf than with you in Lge 2.
