And turned into a Kevin Spencer story, why? Some people still have an agenda. You, appear to have an agenda of your own.

Here is my two pennyworth on this. Without Geoff we would not even have The Mem to sell to Sainsburys or use as security for loans. Some view Geoff as a crafty operator who punches above his weight and others view him as a manipulative double dealer. Whichever description is more accurate I believe that if he had been in charge last season his street fighting qualities would have ensured that Rovers were not relegated to the Conference. If Geoff owned 52% of the club and was down to his last ten million I believe he would have loaned the club two and a half million rather than give security and pay interest to an outside finance company. In my view he would be desperate to make sure that, even if the worst case scenario happened, he left the club in better financial situation than it was when he joined it. If the stories are true, and Geoff is being denied the chance to become a Vice President and not being welcomed at club functions, then I feel those responsible should remember that two wrongs don't make a right. Maybe so but it was Geoff who invited Nick Higgs onto the board and it was Geoff who stood down to make way for Nick to become vice chair and eventually begin his disaterous tenure as chairman.

have all GD's loans been repaid to (I think I read that one for £200k has been), perhaps another step in moving him out?
all this St Valentines stuff has a soupcon of Al Capone about it

I hate the fact that ANY legitimate fan can be banned. What hurts most is knowing that Kevin and a good many others, will not be back. It's not as if we can afford to alienate more. I see the older men at our games but not many very young fans. We really do need the next generation of Rovers fans to be coming now. I'll get me coat What about the bloke who thumped a player at braintree? He would say he is a legitmate supporter He can say what he wants but most supporters would say he wasn't a legitimate fan as he decided to break the law. That racist Chelsea fan who is ever so sorry would probably say he is a legitimate fan, do you? Mr Spencer never belted anyone as far as I am aware or used abusive language to get himself banned.... If it is true that GoD is banned from the Valentine's Party I hope he realises that the next step in the timeline is a ban from the ground.....

And turned into a Kevin Spencer story, why? Some people still have an agenda. I'm sure you do and it is not exactly hidden It's about GoD not you or Kevin Spencer. But it looks as if the road the BoD is going down is the same road they went down with Mr Spencer. Don't you think that ironic or are you Mr Higgs love child. PS if its boring don't read it, ignore and have a nice day....

Geoff was told he was not welcome at the clubs annual valentines dinner. Karma is a bitch. I wonder if he'll be the next ex director to get a ban ? Is this a fact or just hearsay ?

Don't know. Don't care. Don't know why anyone would bother asking unless they were looking to cause trouble? Leave it out. Things are going OK at the moment moment. How on earth would discussing something on a message board affect the performance of the players?

What damage doea talking about affairs like this on the forum actually do?
For all those idiots that claim that this aims to derail the club's on field progress, do you think Higgs, Clarke and the squad meet up on Wednesdays to have a collective cry at the forum?

I got to know Geoff pretty well and yes he was crafty, but he got us the Mem and he certainly sold some of our players for a lot more than they were worth, and he knew football. Higgs has no nouse and knows little about the game of football, although his building background does suggest he knows how to spot a player that can trap a bag of cement.

Peter Dinford confirmed on Twitter. He already knew that, he's in the know. Yes, I kind of got the irony in that. I was told by a friend whose parents were at said Ball. I don't feel a need to name them even though I was not asked to keep it a secret. It is also now on a couple of blogs etc.
