Admin - please delete this post - Dunford is a jinx, since he left (thank god) the club is in a far better position on the pitch - his name should not be associated with us...it will only bring bad luck....

Kevin maybe banned but he's pretty good with Geoffs quest. why would you want to go to the gas when you've got that? I hate the fact that ANY legitimate fan can be banned. What hurts most is knowing that Kevin and a good many others, will not be back. It's not as if we can afford to alienate more. I see the older men at our games but not many very young fans. We really do need the next generation of Rovers fans to be coming now. I'll get me coat Don't get your coat, brother, stay. Your post is very legitimate and valid. On the subject of younger generation, I've noticed this too. There doesn't seem to be high proportionate of big groups of teenagers, certainly at away matches. If true, I don't think this is a rovers thing particularly, I'm wondering if this is true in society (ie: pubs)? It's up to Mr PR to encourage youth elements through turnstiles. Maybe a free asbo after 5games?? *tongue in cheek emoticon*

There were plenty in the south stand yesterday

Some people just cant let things drop, its time to move on and support the club "our team" things will never be perfect, certain people however highly regarded never ever show support for club just veiled criticism every time a problem arises either through message boards, blogs or twitter ie Friday night. Dunford is just a supporter now like the rest of us, a new era will hopefully begin in May with promotion and the stadium lets try and unite and support our team.

Where I stand in the 'Blackthorn End' us old gits are way outnumbered by the younger generation Out of interest who was it that told Geoff he couldn't attend the St Valentine's ball ?

Whatever we think of Geoff, and my personal opinion is that he ultimately damaged the club, banning individuals for things other than racism/violence/illegality is poor form.
Higgs should really explain this.

Here is my two pennyworth on this.
Without Geoff we would not even have The Mem to sell to Sainsburys or use as security for loans.
Some view Geoff as a crafty operator who punches above his weight and others view him as a manipulative double dealer. Whichever description is more accurate I believe that if he had been in charge last season his street fighting qualities would have ensured that Rovers were not relegated to the Conference.
If Geoff owned 52% of the club and was down to his last ten million I believe he would have loaned the club two and a half million rather than give security and pay interest to an outside finance company. In my view he would be desperate to make sure that, even if the worst case scenario happened, he left the club in better financial situation than it was when he joined it. If the stories are true, and Geoff is being denied the chance to become a Vice President and not being welcomed at club functions, then I feel those responsible should remember that two wrongs don't make a right.

And turned into a Kevin Spencer story, why? Some people still have an agenda. Its about neither actually Its about a inherent mean spirit within the club. Some were asking what examples there were of poor leadership. This is one. Really ironic that one of the main players on the BoD who spitefully cancelled a booking for a table of ten at the Valentines Ball of 2008 (I think it was) now find themselves asked not to attend (so I have been told) this years ball. Regardless of one's view of individuals, is this really necessary, does it not expose rather weak personalities amongst the "leadership" (stop laughing at the back) Back in 2008, as a direct result of this petty spitefulness, I organised "The Alternative Valentines Ball" at Mangotsfield FC, for all those that were either disenchanted, banned or damned by the club. I think we had about 100 people book it (its an age thing as my memory starts to fail!!) We raised about £500 for the Community Department which was eventually accepted. It was an hilarious night, with a funny band, me shouting into a dead mic and ending up with a lap full of red wine!!!
The thought of not accepting anyone who would have liked to attend would never have crossed my, or anybody's, mind.
Frankly, this is pathetic.
Meanwhile...back in box 1.....
