Midfielder Josh Wakefield - One Month Loan From AFC Bournemouth. Been on loan it seems at Torquay but not a regular. Not too excited by this but hope Dawson starts against Lincoln as we need someone who can cross the ball.

We signed a total unknown player in LDV for a month to cover suspensions/international duty and he didn't turn out to be too bad. This is just a temp signing and hopefully if the lad does well we could extend it for longer. For most of this season people have asked for an attacking midfielder and DC has now delivered.

What a very very very ordinary signing!
Clarke really knows how to persuade in his sphere of influence i.e. 50 miles radius of Salisbury.
As WCG says, Clarke has now delivered!

Yep, lets judge the player before he's kicked a ball for us eh?

If it's widely considered to be an uninspiring loan signing, the level of expectation will be lower and hopefully, less pressure.
Let's give him a chance. It's a team game and hopefully his addition will compliment it..

Another poster compared losing Sinclair to losing Ronnie Mauge when we looked odds on for promotion under Ollie, and hoped we learned from the mistake of bringing in youngsters to do a man's job. Unfortunately, you fear from this signing we didn't learn anything but I guess he can't be any worse than Lockyer in midfield?

Underwhelmed by the signing as he clearly isn't of the same level as Conor Clifford is. It feels very much like a late plan E that we've just got over the line and when you consider we were going to sign a player even before the extent of Sincs' injury was discovered it isn't going to inspire much confidence in the fan base. I half thought we'd get two players in today to be honest.
DC's signings so far have been good overall, without doubt, and I hope Wakefield proves to be another. I'm just not convinced by his credentials just yet as he barely set the world alight at Torquay and now we need him to create goals for us.

Location, Money, Personal Circumstances & Dropping down to the conference are a major obstacle DC has to face when trying to bring players in, certainly the case with established players with a decent CV. He only had a short time frame to find someone, and we have moved for a player who we need, a player with 30 games experience at this level, no ego, no over inflated bank balance, no crippling injury record and no job for a mate.

Hmm the difference between a player not wanted at Southend and a player thought to be a good prospect at Bournemouth i know which one i would choose.
