Im sure it would help if we all, including you, contributed a bit more...but surely SL has no particular liability because he isn't a UK resident. That's his point he left the country to avoid paying UK taxes. Makes you wonder how much money someone wants as tax is only on income? As we're not a country that stops its citizens from living where they like I don't get your point, presumably you'd like us to be more like China, Cuba or the pre 90s Eastern European nations where they only way anyone got out was to escape. In regard to tax I would imagine SL will have paid more than his fair share-whatever that is-in income tax, VAT, ctg on his share sales, dividend tax, corporation tax on the profits of the companies he owns and probably worked out that his family would be better off by not paying 40% IHT to the state when he dies. Of course it could all be about Guernsey being a much nicer place to live than Bedminster or Horfield, irrespective his money, his passport, his choice and I'd still swap him for NH today, tomorrow and every other day.

It is reported that he is worth £2,390 million, 60% of that should still be enough. If you want to live in a tax haven, then live there. If you are passionate about Bristol Sport then live there. That's my opinion. I don't agree with best of both worlds.

No more than you are...however I am a staunch opponent of our weak and devious management, the new stadium, rose tinters, attacking everything happening elsewhere just for the sake of it, the EU and the Euro and big government generally, I'm unsure about DC and whether there is a god and the new series of Mr Selfridge and on the fence about Bristol Sport taking over GCCC and bringing championship tennis back to Bristol at Redland, but I do think it's been very good for City and the rugby club.

I suppose it depends how much, as a fan, you're willing to 'sell out' to achieve success.
City, Cardiff and MK Dons have all done it, with relative success (well, League One anyway), whilst we're languishing where we are.
Personally, I'd prefer a day out with mates at Woking to what they've done, but it's not everyone's cup of tea is it.

The 82er's owe SL at least £20m, having written off a £35m debt, and until this season where hardly setting Div 1 alight, meanwhile he's forced Bristol RFC to move from thier heartland, what's very good about that? Spending £60m to go nowhere fast makes even our BoD look OK!

The traditional position is an interesting one, but unfortunately progress or change are ever present companions. In many ways I share your view but I know only by embracing change can we make progress. I'm surprised that Cardiff and City are lumped together with Wimbkedon/MK as they are very different, all that's happened to the two City's is change of ownership. Looking at the current Premiership it seems virtually every club has changed ownership or control in the last 10 years...it's what happens at football clubs. Wimbledon was very different and as one who was running a business in Kingston on Thames( and thus employing many Wimbledon fans) when it all went off I can't work out what the old Wimbkedin FC was supposed to do when the council scuppered their bid to play matches anywhere locally.

As I've said previously, if we don't get cash from Sainsburys we'll be the 15er's so I think it's probably better not to tempt fate too much. Wish SL had invested £60 million in us.
