But are the new members for or against the stadium, if NH is/was the driving force behind the UWE what happens when he steps down?
How easy will it be to just walk away from Sainsbury's without having to pay them substantial compo, unless they also want out?

This is starting to become tedious. Whoever is Chairman is irrelevant if the outcome (aka decision-making) of the "democratic Board" stays the same. Geoff has more football nous than Nick (who should be allowed to concentrate on the Stadium development). It's the management of internal dissent that he struggles with. Chris Jelf would be a good choice. Younger, more straight-forward and perceived by fan-base as a new brush and relatively untarnished. Does he have the time to do it though? I hope you're reading Geoff. Some sense in a sea of drivel. Can't believe all the stuff being written and believed on the basis of Chinese whispers. If NH is standing down I hope it is so he concentrates on the stadium while someone else heads up the club and getting us back in the football league.

If NH is standing down it's because the Stadium is a dead duck. he owns over 50% of the club. As long as the UWE is still live he is unnasailable.
Unless he has finally accepted that he couldn't lead Gary Glitter to a playground, but that sort of self-awareness is not what I would call a strong feature of Box 1.

I can't see any reason why Nick couldn't stand down as chairman but still deliver the stadium as a normal board member. You could argue that would have been for the best from the outset but that's by the by now. If he can still deliver the stadium as promised I think he might still be remembered in a good light in years to come (certainly better than he is right now!). A relegation might only last a few years - hopefully - but the stadium could last for a century or more. Let someone else with better skills take the helm but no reason why Nick can't carry on in a purely stadium delivery capacity. If he can deliver the stadium debt free then I'd certainly be happy to see Nick still play an active part in the board - not sure what others think?

Stadium work due to start in the next 3-6 months and there's talk of Higgs stepping down next week. If he steps down next week, that tells you all you need to know about whether the thing will be built. The bus has been started and is due to drive straight into a brick wall very soon.

This year means anything from tomorrow right up until 6 months from now, didn't Higgs say hope to start this year, 3 - 6 months was just a guess within the the quote 'sometime this year.'

Saying that you hope to on site this year is not the same thing as being on course to achieve this objective. That's why my earlier post said if the rumours of Higgs stepping down are true, the stadium must surely be dead in the water, can't see why he would walk away if everything with the stadium was fine. The alarms bells were ringing when he came out with the statement about aiming for work to start this year, it was a vague thing to say that bought him some time and released a bit of pressure. When i saw a post this week from someone who had found a old video about the failed Mem project, you could just see it happening all over again. If the UWE fails then the most likely outcome is a takeover, which looks more likely by the day, and the silence is scary.

Hello Seygas, he should be able to fit in the 30 minutes a week needed to keep Rovers on their current exciting course then.
