very tight with his money!! he only did the torquay thing as advertisement, not to invest in football £25 Million turnover means nothing , that is vanity - I work for a business with a £16m turnover but EBITDA (Net Profit before Tax Etc...) of less than £250k

I know gashead01's boss because I am also in the same line of business (he offered to buy my company when he bought Launa Windows ). He is no dreamer if he has mentioned something I would take the information seriously.

Hope he's right about Sainsburys, as it seems things can go either way atm.
Still, it's all just speculation.
Pretty sure the board will tell everyone that they have the upper hand, if true or not.

Don't know why folk are scoffing at this, when other rumours are seen as fact by some.
Williams did try to get back involved in the summer.
As for Higgs? Enough compo from Sainsbury's to get rid of him would do, as long as they all go - no Bradshaw, and definitely nobody with a certain other surname joining the board.

Nothing really new to read here if you follow the forum, whilst the contracts maybe water tight it's still all down to what compensation Sainbury's will pay out assuming they don't wsnt tobuild on the mem site.
If NH does now want out does that mean the UWE projext is dead??

Ha ha Dont you just love these rumours? I wonder if an investment fund would be interested in cashing in on an attractive level of compensation from Sainsburys, whilst taking ownership of the Mem at the same time? They could then develop the land the stadium is on at their leisure, probably for housing.
Some guessed numbers. Compensation from Sainsburys......£17.5M Cost of buying out current shareholders (£8M) Operating loss cash, three years (£1.5M)
Net profit. £8M Develop land for housing and sell 40 houses at £250k per unit Revenue £10M Cost £5M
Total profit £13M
Nice, easy work if you can get it

If the contract is water tight it doesn't matter what Sainsburys want to do they will have to meet the contract not just compensation. ....& why would the UWE be dead if NH wants out, might just open the door to others to complete - if of course the contract is water tight!

Nick Higgs/The club have allegedly asked for 250k from the SC. Anyone else heard this?
With the refinancing, it makes sense they might look to the SC for money they dont have and the shop has now been sold
You cant help but see everything mounting up to Sainsburys paying or bust ( not literally bust)

If NH does now want out does that mean the UWE projext is dead?? I think the conversation was that this Williams guy is so convinced that sainsburys are unable to back out, therefore the uwe being funded to go ahead and nick higgs recouping his investment. it would be going on a high I guess, with the uwe stadium finally built from his hard work???
can I just say to those who like to put silly laughing comments and such like......im 40 years of age, im not a kid!! I thought some would be intrested in what I heard? I like others wont be completely happy until im sat in the uwe stadium watching our first 'league game'. I can only tell you what was said between this group of blokes, which I know is limited imformation. and can I add.... that this mr Williams said all this in front of some very good company..i,e a highly regarded ex rovers/bath employee, and others! im sure we will all hear the big announcement soon, one way or the another...!

firstly this is my first thread on here, im normally just happy to read others views and comments. but today I got some inside info that I felt worthy of its own thread. I know there has been a lot of talk on the sainsburys subject, and a lot of people guessing whats going to happen and a lot of people waiting with fingers crossed on some good news. but anyway here is what I know, and I know no more than what im going to tell you,so please don't give me thousands of questions as I don't have anymore to tell. and believe what you want of it, but please don't shout the messanger.
a good friend of mine who I meet at every rovers home game was at yate football club on boxing day. a relative of his who had strong links with rovers introduced him to a guy by the surname of Williams??? now this Williams guy has been trying to invest in rovers for a while. and he said to my mate that sainsburys can 'NOT' now pull out. he said that rovers have it so tightly wrapped up it would cost sainsburys to much to back out. he went on to say that higgs is ready to hang up his gloves as soon at the sainsburys deal is complete, as he just wants to re coupe the investment he has put in over the years.? apparently he has already put the club out to tender to venture capitalists for a take over invester, which could result in all kinds of intrest....including foreign investment???
oh and this Williams guy has made his money through the window industry?
now this is all I was told, and all my mate was told.... you believe what you want of it, but they are grown men and not kids. and like I said my mates relative has strong links to rovers, and football in general... this info might tie in what other information that somebody else has???
fantastic win today from the gas!! So please advise what is new about you inside info? You met Colin or his friend, yes Colin did approach Higgs earlier this year, reasonably common knowledge for those following off pitch matters. Colin was previously on the board of directors at BRFC, and his opinion is the contract is all sewn up. I don't think it will come as a surprise that Higgs wants out, this IMO is the most pleasing part. As has been said before if Sainsbury's want to play hard ball in court then they will do just that with their in house legal team. Time will tell of course, all due respect to you fella but I don't see what your post has done to deem it as important inside info.

Just one question I have, obviously there are loads of grants to top this money up to build this thing. Do any of them rely on our league status?.

With £30m originally due from Sainsbury's I didn't think we needed any major grants to build the UWE?
As far as the OP is concerned i don't think anybody is doubting what he said just that it's not something we'd heard before on the forum, if he's offended by that then that's up to him.
