I think that is a fair and reasonably clear statement
We won't move in until the start of 16/17, but doesn't mean starting building it will be delayed 12 months (even if it isn't worded the greatest)
Hopefully it is full steam ahead. I hope we get some answers to financing questions now

Thanks for the link manc. For me the article answers all of the questions that I have, from the BRFC end at least. NH's is quoted as saying . . . Onwards and (hopefully) upwards, eh?

I must be barking mad but I believe Nick! With you on This ! after 42 years of hurt, excluding about 4 seasons, I'll believe anyone when I'm sat in UWE watching a debt free club funding itself to success

It is at least an answer which confirms that the build is to go ahead. Just a shame it took so long - a lot of trouble could have been avoided if he'd said this two weeks ago.
I'm still not clear though why the club might not start construction for several more months. I expect that too will finally be revealed when the natives are starting to look stroppy again.

Each entitled to their own opinion. However: I don:t think it confirms one little bit it will be built. By saying we AIM or HOPE to build is a lose statement. If for some reason it folds like Mangotsfield: Avonmouth: The 3 phase project at the MEM (2005) 18000 revamp (2009) and this UWE (2012 onwards). NH can say "Where did I say we will start on this day or that date". Although NH might be questioned for not delivering. He is faultless at presenting things but covering himself against failure...

Well, I'll believe it when I see it.
Personally speaking, and after speaking to someone involved with the Sainsbury's planning process, I think Sainsbury's want out. Then again, I'm a bit of a pessimist when it comes to Rovers.

I've no idea if they want out of your project but I think it is safe to say that are re-evaluating all their projects, not yours in isolation. As previously posted my daughters news agency asked Sainsbury specifically last week if the Southend and Bristol football projects were definitely going ahead.
We could not get a direct answer to that question in respect of either Southend or yourselves. All the official spokesman came back with was:
"In both cases we are still under contract and working through a number of legal issues (which is normal as part of any deal)."
Doesn't really help either way I'm afraid.

No it doesnt confirm it will be built. Until they start building it nothing will. However its the closest thing to confirmation that has come out of the club. Keep ot on file in case there is another hiccup

The will never say what day the dozers move in because if that slips by 1 hour, the forum will be over them like a bad rash in a STD clinic - Sack the board blah blah blah You will only know when it starts when the a picture of the "Chairman/woman" will be pictured on site with a shovel in hand

But this is of NH's own making, obtuse public announcements always leads to Chinese whispers and cynicism. He is a crap chairman.

Aye Oldie, he is the master of his own making and has helped create that situation. His communication skills are indeed somewhat lacking to say the least and the worst thing about it is he doesn't seem to learn from his mistakes.

All the official spokesman came back with was: "In both cases we are still under contract and working through a number of legal issues (which is normal as part of any deal)." The worst case scenario is, that if the worst were to come to the worst (and I don't think that it will), then I would assume that as we are playing in NH's playpen he would have all the options covered. He may not be much of a communicator, but he does know his way around building contracts. If Sainsbury's were to decide not to proceed for any reason, then I would assume that there would be a compensation clause in place to cover this. This isn't ideal of course, but we are where we are . . . as they say. As I began by saying I'm still confident despite all the rumours to the contrary, but nothing seems straightforward nowadays, does it?
