So no more Bobby Jones-type players then, Henbury? Was Dickie Plumb the end of an era, do you think? Well i can just about remember Bobby Jones and his brothers i think, Dickie Plumb is beyond my old fart age... Never, I can't believe it. You must remember Dickie, we signed him in 1965 from Swindon Town, although to be fair he didn't last too long with us. Tall and ungainly he was, a bit like Bambi on ice. I seem to remember that it was intended that he should be groomed as Alfie Biggs successor. In any event he didn't make the grade with us, but predictably had a reasonable career elsewhere, most notably with Charlton Athletic for a short while.

If he hasn't played for 15 months is he really going to be fit enough to play tonight bearingin mind Monkhouse wasn't considered fit after just missing the start of our pre-season?

I remember him scoring a cracking goal from the left wing just inside the opposition half, keeper had made a hash of clearing the ball and was way off his line.Cant remember who the opposition were though

If he keeps himself fit. With a bit of luck he could be the di maria of the conference. Got to wait and see though.

Surely it's time we struck lucky with a signing.Cant see DC taking on anyone who was a long way from full fitness at this stage of the season as something similar to the Turley situation would have been put on the table for this lad.If he's still got half the ability of when he made his debut at 17 for QPR then he might tear up the conference you never know.Good luck Angelo and stick a goal or two in tonight please.

Just a quick question, what is the matter with Gosling?? The guy is considered by the Non-League paper to be our star player this season when they ran the rule over all the teams back in early august!!! Is he injured, out of favour, anyone know? ? On international duty with Gibraltar. Came on as a sub in their 7-0 loss to Poland Thanks just wondering when he's going to get a game!!??

As ive said before on here give the player a chance, i remember a certain mr t.henry coming to the arsenal as a winger who nobody had heard of, and well you know the rest. If he bangs in ten this season i will be very happy. UTG I cant believe you are comparing the Thierry Henry transfer to Arsenal with our situation to start with Arsenal paid £11m for him from Juventus when several other top European clubs were tracking him, and so I don't know where this (nobody had heard of him came from). Our position is we have acquired a player who obviously nobody else wants who apparently has an attitude problem. I also think you have to question his motives or his sanity to want to come to Bristol Rovers at this moment in time. Okay, maybe you have a point but i know many at highbury who asked who?, what i was trying to say is that he was brought in as a winger and then played up front to which i know people asked why, and that roll of the dice payed off, so maybe thats dcs plan?

Like folks have said Balanta looks a good signing on paper. Hopefully he'll be one of those players who failed to find their feet at league level and drops down to non-league and are immense!

Excellent news, we've signed someone who's failed everywhere he's been, and as no FL club is interested he's grasped the straw that is Rovers. Do you ever say anything constructive? Go back to your own forum. If there's something constructive to say, I'll say it. Get back to your play pen.

Does it give you satisfaction knowing that you are fooling about 10% of people on her into thinking you are a Rovers' fan. If anyone needs to grow up, then maybe it is you. At least have the guts to come out and say you are a City fan and we can engage in constructive debate. Otherwise you are just a little bit pathetic.

I wouldn't mind if they came on here and just took the piss, but to try and be 'clever' by pretending to be a Rovers fan shows a pretty weak mentality in my humble opinion.

Lol, I think you just blew your cover with a response like that. As has been said, I have no problem with fans of other clubs entering Rovers debates, but pretending to be something your not is ridiculous imo.
