Just a quick question, what is the matter with Gosling?? The guy is considered by the Non-League paper to be our star player this season when they ran the rule over all the teams back in early august!!! Is he injured, out of favour, anyone know? ? On international duty with Gibraltar. Came on as a sub in their 7-0 loss to Poland That won't do his confidence much good - Gibraltar were only 1-0 down when he came on in the 45th minute!!!!!

Main concern is what he did last season as it seems he spent all season back at QPR before being released in the summer, when did he last play a competitive match as QPR don't seem to have a reserve team, is he even anywhere near match fit? www.thenorthernecho.co.uk/news/11356658.Mads_Ibenfeldt_and_Angelo_Balanta_on_trial_with_Southend_United/Winger Balanta, 24, is also looking for a new club after being released by QPR. Balanta had been trial with Bradford City but he will now be teaming up with the Shrimpers. And boss Brown is eager to see him action. ““I’ve been trying to get Angelo in with us for a few weeks and he’s agreed to it now which is good news,” said Brown. . He’s someone I look the like of and he can play in a variety of positions. “He can play wide left, on the right or behind the striker so we’re going to have a look at him this week. “I know there have been question marks about his attitude in the past but he’s assured me he will come in and work hard.”

As ive said before on here give the player a chance, i remember a certain mr t.henry coming to the arsenal as a winger who nobody had heard of, and well you know the rest. If he bangs in ten this season i will be very happy. UTG

Anything will be an improvement on Saturday and we should give the bloke a chance instead of finding as much against him as possible. We really are worst than the red side now with how we treat players both before they even start and worst still once they are playing. The treatment Brunt has been getting from some supporters even BEFORE the game is absolutely disgusting and makes me question whether the reasons I put Rovers far ahead of City are even relevant anymore. Very sad times but thankfully these people are very much in the minority at the moment but of course it is the minority who are often heard the most and ruin the enjoyment for the majority.

It's only a debate on a forum Steve. If people cannot handle facts (he has not played in 15 months, he has had attitude problems in the past) and do not understand that players now need to prove to us that they can do the business in the quarters (not any other way!) then I feel a tad sorry for them. Have we learnt nothing from the past few seasons with the likes of Riordan and Kenneth? Sure support players on match day, but let's not berate individuals on a forum who want to hold judgement on new players!

It was just my opinion, and I respect yours too. As said, I was just showing the facts the worst being that he has been out of football on and off for a while so, in my opinion, there must be a reason for that. I also said I would be happy to be proved wrong and will admit it if I was.

There needs to be some balance as no point in posters saying he's a brillant signing then us all being disappointed when he can't deliver. AB is probably in the last chance saloon when it comes to pro football so he really needs to deliver, lets hope he can.

What i find quite disturbing is that we think that BRFC should be attracting better players than what we are at the moment. People please please we are a poor conference team with no money and we are only going to attract poor players, sorry the days of Signing Messi type players are over.
We will only attract poor players to a poor team... Simples

So are you suggesting NH basically lied to fans when he said DC would have a competitive budget for the Conference? Even if he did where does the money from 5,000+ attendences actually go each week when the likes of Kidderminster & Barnet can put together a decent squad on gates, & so income, less than half that?
We know last season we had a decent wage budget for Div 2 so not attracting players doesn't seem to be dirctly connected to us now having no money. Also surely we are a poor team this season as DC's signed poorly performing players not players bought on the cheap i.e. White, Taylor, Leadbitter etc

UTG I cant believe you are comparing the Thierry Henry transfer to Arsenal with our situation to start with Arsenal paid £11m for him from Juventus when several other top European clubs were tracking him, and so I don't know where this (nobody had heard of him came from). Our position is we have acquired a player who obviously nobody else wants who apparently has an attitude problem. I also think you have to question his motives or his sanity to want to come to Bristol Rovers at this moment in time.

If the bloke has been regularly training and has basic football ability then there will be no problem. Our problem is we have players who cannot pass from A to B consistently even if the distance is only a few yards! Lets judge the bloke when he puts on the quarters.

Massive difference between training and a fully competitive game Steve. He has not played a proper game for 16 months.
