If anyone has other sensible suggestions not the Andy Spring or Ed Upson stand
Please be constructive Ie Harry Bamford or Ray Warren would be others I would suggest once we start developing the other stands

I think Geoff Bradford's name deserves something better than a semi-permanent stand with stanchions blocking the view. I wouldn't play the name game until there was a replacement for the East stand or the Clubhouse...

Let’s wait to we a fully developed Mem or a new stadium before we think about naming stands after individuals, at the moment I would rather the club attract a sponsor to help with the cost of building it. And to be honest as Geoff Bradford was the only player to represent England whilst playing for Rovers in our 140 year history I think a statue would be more appropriate.

The Rovers History Group has already raised £2k for a Bradford statue If you wish to donate some money I can forward bank details We only require another £50k so please be generous if donating ! Wael has said club won't fund a statue and fans need to raise the funds Bristol City82 fans took eight years to raise enough money for John Atyeo statue We are five years on and need a substantial amount to complete the commissioning of a statue Bristol Rovers History Group Ps on 9 Dec we are celebrating the clubs 140th anniversary at the Mem before Cheltenham match. If you wish to add a donation to statue please out in the tin on 9 December in Thatchers Bar

A few greats and legends, all for various reasons are worthy of naming of a stand after them, but if I had a vote it should be a player that died in service of the club.
My choice would be Mickey Barratt. Or, Harry Bamford.
Each to their own.
My guess is TG will be too greedy for this opportunity to go to waste. He'll ensure the paperwork is completed well on time when there's a few quid in it.

Gerrish's brother Howard was also a footballer. In February 1915, six months into the First World War, Gerrish enlisted in the Football Battalion of the Middlesex Regiment. He was severely wounded in both legs by a shell blast at Delville Wood on 8 August 1916 and died later that day.Gerrish has no known grave and is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial. No greater sacrifice than giving your life in battle

I think a stand could be called 'the team of 2015 stand' without their great season Rovers could still be playing non league football or out of business.
This stand could be called 'the temporary south stand' maybe after 25 or 30 years just drop 'the temporary'.

What a ridiculous suggestion you have attributed the clubs history to a handful of mercenaries the majority of which got the club relegated !

A Geoff Bradford stand should be exclusively for the home fans in a stadium in which we will definately stay for the next 30 plus years.
If the North Terrace or East Stand was developed to be a proper stand then I would fully support the cause, but not for the south.

No one can guarantee staying anywhere for 30 days let alone 30 years i strongly believe it needs to be a stand with a goal net in front of it ..he scored over 242 times in Rovers nets

What a ridiculous suggestion you have attributed the clubs history to a handful of mercenaries the majority of which got the club relegated ! Not a ridiculous suggestion at all. I would hope that you of all people, knowing a great deal about BRFC, would have realised that were it not for many of those players we would probably not be where we are now without their efforts over that season. Even, iirc, someone who turned down a move to stay with us and right the wrong of our relegation. As did a few. Of course all footballers are mercenary in the sense that they get paid very well for playing football. But I think it a tad unfair to try and label them as mercenaries in the way you did. Not a fan of Tom Lockyer then? For clarity I would hope Geoff Bradford will get a statue in time or even a stand bearing his name but let’s wait for a proper stand, hopefully in a proper ground. I would hope among the considerations for stand names or places within the ground when we build them to include Alfie Biggs and Harold Jarman but perhaps in this day and age we might need to think about more recent players who the younger generation could identify with as well. UTG!

If we do have to name it after anyone (and I’m not entirely convinced) my nominations would be: Denis Dunford Micky Barrett Or in memory of Eastville, the Muller Road End.

Only ever saw the vast terrace of the Muller Road End full to the imaginary rafters when the Gunners shot us down in the FA Cup. You could count the fag ends littering the steps on a Saturday afternoon

The only teams other than Gunners that spring to mind as having a good go at filling the Muller Road end were Soton & Sunderland that I can recall.

UTG! Surely the most important season for Rovers in their history, failure to get promotion that season and Rovers could be 6th tier now or out of business. I agree, statue for Geoff Bradford, agree about AB and HJ too...would add Paul Randall.
