The squads coming along nicely.

In case anyone didn't already know: www.exetercityfc.co.uk/news/2023/march/club-statement---jevani-brown/Jevani Brown appeared at Exeter Magistrates Court this morning in relation to an incident in February. He pleaded guilty to one charge of assault and not guilty to a second charge of assault. A trial date has now been set to hear the case at Exeter Crown Court on July 7. As the legal proceedings remain active there will be no further comment from Exeter City Football Club.

We've now had five permanent signings.
Josh Grant. High risk due to injury record.
Grant Ward. High risk due to injury record.
James Wilson. Low risk.
Luke Thomas. High risk due to temperament.
Jevani Brown. High risk due to temperament.
I think we are in desperate need of more low risk signings.

Clearly excellent last season, but the overwhelming part of his career has been spent in D2 and non-league and can be kindly described as 'underwhelming'. However, I thought the same of Collins, and look how that turned out...
Obviously comes with substantial baggage. The club need to at least acknowledge this and explain how it will be addressed 'going forward', especially if a guilty verdict is forthcoming in the second case.
We also have the unhappy precedent of our friends across the river, who I believe had around a quarter of their first team detained at her majesty's pleasure at one point....

Bristol Rovers criticised for signing Jevani Brown amid ongoing assault case..ichef.bbci.co.uk/onesport/cps/800/cpsprodpb/EB8D/production/_130210306_shutterstock_editorial_13744162cq.jpgBristol Rovers has been criticised today after announcing the signing of Jevani Brown. The 28-year-old was suspended by the Grecians in February and has not played since after being charged with assaulting two women. His signing has drawn criticism from some, including the HerGameToo movement that looks to battle inequality and sexism in football. The movement was started by a Bristol Rovers supporter and the club became the first official partner of it. In a statement posted on social media the group said it was 'aware of the signing'. “As this is a live legal case, we are unable to comment on the matter," the post said. “However, we can confirm that in due course, once the case has concluded, we will make a decision on what this means for our partnership with Bristol Rovers FC. “We will remain in dialogue with the club throughout the process and provide further comment if required in due course. "Jevani is an exciting talent. He can operate across the midfield and forward areas and will bring another dimension to our team," manager Joey B***** said. "I am looking forward to welcoming him into our group and seeing him in action for the club." Brown, who was voted Exeter's players' player of the season at the end of the last campaign, began his career at Peterborough United and has also played for Colchester United, Cambridge United and Forest Green Rovers.

Not quite as prolific as I imagined. About 40 goals in 200 EFl games

Benjamin Mendy is a free agent in 4 days time and Preston would probably listen to offers for Ched Evans as he has a long term injury. Mason Greenwood is probably out of our league.
Yevgeny Prigozhin is looking for a career change too I hear

I'm not sure if I remember correctly, but I believe former defender Steve Foster was allegedly involved in a physical assault involving a woman after our relegation to L2 and continued to play for the club. We also have the unhappy precedent of our friends across the river, who I believe had around a quarter of their first team detained at her majesty's pleasure at one point.... You are remembering incorrectly

Unethical behaviour is endemic in football regardless of division, club, player or owner. Or fans.
At least the club have community programs so some of the good can dilute some of the baggage

I think both are very good signings and they'll do well. I think so too. They just need to adapt to B*****'s prison yard one-touch football with sudden break-outs from confined spaces to put the opponents off guard and under the cosh with no time for proper line-ups. We should ditch soppy Irene as walk-out music too in favour of Jailhouse Rock.
