The signing of Brown is a real betrayal for Her Game Too and it's founders Caz May and Lucie Ford. So far they have been diplomatic about the signing and are awaiting the outcome of the court case on July 7th before making a further comment. No reason to wait, the guy has admitted one offence of assaulting a woman already. I wonder if B***** has enlisted and is paying his brief Simon Csoka to represent Brown in court on the day.If so, no doubt it will be adjourned for another 8 months for some spurious reason and the club will hope it will all go away and be forgotten about. B***** is mirroring exactly what he did at Fleetwood, he signed Ched Evans which at the time was controversial and then eventually fell out with the owner and Evans and was sacked. I wonder if we are about to witness a repeat of that at Rovers.

Exeter City did the 'right thing' in suspending one of their better players pending the result of the court case. Bristol Rovers have now signed him. How does that make the Club look? Brown has pleaded guilty to assaulting a woman and faces another charge. Do Gasheads just not care any more? I guess not. How about Adam Johnson? Should still have a year or two left in him. Nile Ranger anyone?

Oddly enough, if two people share an opinion, that does not necessarily mean that they are the same person. Dual logins would also break Forum rules and JeffNZ would take appropriate action. To the case in point. What is your opinion of the signing of Jevani Brown. Are you comfortable with it?

I am not happy with the signing as it stands. I am not against giving people a second chance if they show remorse, contrition and want to do better. Half the problem here is signing Brown with the case hanging over him and an admitted charge we no little about. Because of that no one can say anything and therefore we have no idea if Brown has any remorse or contrition whatever his defence is and whatever the provocation and the club get to pretend it's a thing that isnt happening (at least for a week or so) signing him now means the club have created a void, where all anyone can do is fill in the gaps speculatively while we await the evidence and outcome of his case. For me this is just a cynical attempt to try swoop in and sign him before anyone else does because they are potentially waiting on the outcome. The whole episode is just grubby, will be bad press when he is sentenced for at least one charge, not to mention all the other noise that goes along with B***** in general that will all be dragged up again by said press to remind everyone he is our manager who will be banned from the stadium for 3 games to add to his roll of honour that they publish every time

"A really good player" according to my Grecian season ticket holder mate.
Lovely! Good work getting his signature.
Looking forward to watching Jevani wearing the Quarters,or whatever shirt they've come up with this time.

As I replied to you this time last year re the other JB, my only interest is the football (cf Basel). He caught my eye last season a few times as a player. Don't want him anywhere near my son/daughter/feline-identifier. - as with all the other players. Don't want to socialise with him either - as with all the other players. This new professional approach (eg snap him up before the others do) is the change that the first JB has brought about. Very un-'Rovers-of-old'. The world has changed. Not better, not worse, but certainly more exposed.

One of the Gas Facebook supporter sites has a post from a fan with a new chant for Jevani Brown Basically 'Jevani Brown's on fire, Her Game Too are terrified'
That says all you need to know about the Gas these days. This is the level some of our fans have fallen to. A very sad day.

Her Game Too, my guess is that the partnership is already over, together with my new found enthusiasm, a desperately poor decision Rovers

Most of the time people are reluctant to say anything on those facebook pages, as they know they'll get mouthful of abuse.

It’s disgusting. BRFC should be ashamed and embarrassed. As a fan you honestly cannot ignore the hypocrisy and think this is a good move surely. Really struggling to support this club as it stands.

I am beyond caring, the club i once knew and loved is changed beyond words and i am greatly saddened that our once proud reputation is in tatters. Apathy rules and we have no independent sc, all local people were shed and some in an awful way. Cashless, ticketMaster plus seeming to target the better off fan, by implementing a number of things. Rovers will always be in my dna but not B*****’s Rovers. Brown will score goals, we may do very well but at what price ? The people who used to turn up, when time and cash allowed, now cannot buy tickets on the day so we have seemingly decided to “lose” them. Ah well, i have my memories and good ones at that. There is no coming back from this. Maybe i best FO down to AG eh

Clearly excellent last season, but the overwhelming part of his career has been spent in D2 and non-league and can be kindly described as 'underwhelming'. However, I thought the same of Collins, and look how that turned out... Obviously comes with substantial baggage. The club need to at least acknowledge this and explain how it will be addressed 'going forward', especially if a guilty verdict is forthcoming in the second case. We also have the unhappy precedent of our friends across the river, who I believe had around a quarter of their first team detained at her majesty's pleasure at one point.... They can now sit back and have the last laugh. Talking with a good, red mate, who dropped in and he just cannot believe we have taken this route. He has never been opionated nor , in anyway, nasty yet he said we cannot believe you are taking on such a manager and player. It was city who used to do that ! The club being a member of #HerGameToo is an oxymoron is ever i saw one. A kick in the teeth of Caz and Lucy. I wonder what their thoughts are ?

I remember people saying similar things at the beginning of the Trollope and Garner relegation seasons. Thomas and Brown are gambles that could pay off or go horribly wrong. I think both are very good signings and they'll do well. I was waiting for this, as sure as beans are beans, Basel supports, without a shred of any real thought , the signing of another unsavoury person and shows his usual sycophancy toward JB and his ways. At least you are constant Bas. Anyway, i am done with this, hoped it was a baseless rumour. He had other women join in, on twitter, to tell their stories of what Brown did , said and spat at them. As my dad used to say, the piper will be paid. Sad part is i now expect this. We are no longer the club that was loved by so many. Have a look on other club fora.

Very very disappointing and sad of said poster, to even think this way but, so long as we’ve win games, most now do not care, evidently

Is Simon Csoka defending this man who has assaulted one woman and stands accused of assaulting another? Second only to Tony Craig in recent times as a quality defender.

This is the level some of our fans have fallen to. A very sad day. Here's an interesting article about the way football has evolved over time: www.theguardian.com/football/blog/2023/jul/01/football-clubs-communities-fans-ownersI found this rather poignant: "...good owners are those who spend money, bad owners are those who do not. A vocal element of fanbases then become propaganda warriors, parroting their club’s lines and seeking to intimidate doubters and critics. Perhaps it’s natural in areas that feel neglected by Westminster that there should be a desire for a wealthy saviour but property development on land bought at a favourable rate is not beneficent urban regeneration. Sheikh Mansour is not investing in Manchester, nor Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund in Newcastle, out of the goodness of their hearts – although it is telling that clubs are now so much part of the community that investment in regeneration projects habitually comes as part of the package."
