Portsmouth are in tenth position and 10 points off the play offs. They could really do with beating Rovers.
We created a few chances against Wycombe and if we can do the same in this match, but find our scoring boots then we can give Pompey a game.
Everything now is for us to stay up and learn as much about our current squad as possible,in readiness for next season.
I expect Collins to to have a good game. Maybe a goal for Quansah and Bogarde.
The last I heard it was all but sold out.
Looking forward to what could be a great game.
Come on Rovers!

Tough match v Pompeii but history will dictate this fixture drags up some great games, plenty of goals and an odd controversy or two.
With a rich rise and fall history themselves, Pompeii will be feeling confident on this one.
With a recent upturn in form (apart from the bemusing sub choice on Tues against well drilled Wycombe), so should we.
No ding a ling fella apparently as he's banned - mush - will it be up Pompeii? ...or UptheGas? ....or neither??
I'll say: 2-1 home win. Scott Sinclair pen. Marquis the other against former club. Packed Mem. Not as good a ref as Tues, or as hot. Plenty of apples on the Road.
COME ON YOU BLUES!

I predict a dicking by them and our manager having lots to say We do seem to play better against teams that want to play football and poor against teams that want to scrap and batter us! My first thought was 0-0 but I think we could scrape it 1-0

We have played Portsmouth 47 times..W12, D10, L25, Biggest wins 5-1 & 4-5, Loss 4-0 and there has been a 3-3 draw.
Portsmouth were founded in 1898, are known as Pompey and play at Fratton Park which has a capacity of 20,899.
Manager John Mousinho is 36 and played his 544 games for Brentford, Oxford, Wycombe, Burton, Preston and Stevenage.
Portsmouth's main rivals are Southampton, who are 19.8 miles away. The South Coast Derby is one of the less frequently played rivalries within English football due to the clubs being in different divisions; however this usually adds to the ferocity of the fixture. Many Portsmouth supporters commonly use the derogatory nickname Scummer or Scummers to describe Southampton fans, or collectively Scum to also include their football club, and indeed the city of Southampton itself.
Jimmy Dickinson holds the appearance record of 834, plus the int record of 48 caps for England & Peter Harris holds the goalscoring record of 211 in 515 matches.
Longest serving manager was Jack Tinn, other managers of note were George Smith, Alan Ball, Jim Smith, Harry Redknapp, Kenny Jackett & Terry Fenwick.
Portsmouth are currently in 10th place and the mighty BRFC are 14th, will be a tough game, IMO we should get at least a point.

Bookies generally have it Gas win 2-1 Pompey win 11-8 Draw 5-2 I guess reflecting Pompey need to win and push towards the play-offs. Don't think Rovers will go down. I'm sticking with a prediction of 16th.

0-2 looks like I was far off saying we played OK against top opposition...... Yet the stats say different!

Just shows how stats don't win matches, you have to score! 10 points off relegation, let's hope we don't get sucked down into it. Desperate to hear from attendees how we played and why we couldn't score!

Desperate to hear from attendees how we played and why we couldn't score! If stats won games then today we won at a canter. Possession 54% to 46% Shots 16 to 7 On target 7 to 3 Seems our best hope from here is survival and "build for next season". A perennial declaration for Gasheads.

Don’t think either Bogarde or Quansah have scored a competitive goal between them, for both to score against Pompey would have attracted serious odd’s from the bookies…ever the optimist Bas!…..
