Mangan building up a nice CV with the FA, banned from football for 5 months for match fixing and fined £2000.00 now charged with being homophobic. The club better get used to this, I'm sure there will be plenty more unpleasant adverse publicity coming it's way.

Woa hold on chaps. Does anyone know what he said? I think it's best not to pin a label on someone without hearing the evidence.

Andy Mangan: Bristol Rovers assistant manager charged by FA over alleged homophobic comment.. ichef.bbci.co.uk/onesport/cps/800/cpsprodpb/140E6/production/_128005128_gettyimages-1243295690.jpgBristol Rovers assistant manager Andy Mangan has been charged with making an alleged homophobic comment during a League One game. The 36-year-old has been charged with an "aggravated breach" of FA rule E3. Mangan is accused of using "abusive and/or insulting" language which "included a reference, whether express or implied, to sexual orientation" to a Plymouth Argyle staff member during half-time of their match in October. He has until 21 December to respond. The fixture finished in a 2-2 draw after Rovers came from 2-0 down at half-time. Under Football Association (FA) disciplinary guidelines, rule E3 states players "shall at all times act in the best interests of the game and shall not act in any manner which is improper or brings the game into disrepute or use any one, or a combination of, violent conduct, serious foul play, threatening, abusive, indecent or insulting words or behaviour". Mangan followed manager Joey B***** in leaving Fleetwood Town in January 2021 and has been part of the coaching staff at Rovers since February of that year.

Thread heading is inappropriate. Remember this is the place where 'guilty until proved innocent' rules. I think 'unproven guilty' made an appearance too

Andy Mangan: Bristol Rovers first-team coach challenges FA homophobic comment charge..
Bristol Rovers first-team coach Andy Mangan is to challenge a charge that he made an alleged homophobic comment during a League One game.
Mangan, 36, denies a charge by the Football Association of using "abusive and/or insulting" language, including a reference to sexual orientation.
Bristol Rovers said Mangan considered the allegation to be "utterly false".
The incident related to comments made to a Plymouth staff member during half-time of their match on 22 October.
Rovers said "all parties were astonished" when they were informed of the charge on Wednesday.
"Mr Mangan considers the allegation, which he strongly denies, to be utterly false, and the homophobic conduct alleged to be completely reprehensible," said a club statement.
"He is aggrieved that the FA has decided to bring a charge, given the baselessness of the claim."
Mangan was charged with an "aggravated breach" of FA rule E.3, which relates to acting in a manner which is improper or brings the game into disrepute.
"He looks forward, nonetheless, to clearing his name and hopes that the FA will take an early opportunity to withdraw the charge," Rovers' statement continued.
"Bristol Rovers stands against all forms of homophobia and is committed to being fully inclusive for all."

Fair enough, let's just wait for the outcome ! But just remember, before these people arrived or were involved we were BRFC. Unique with the quarters and run like people like ourselves.

After over sixty years following an unsuccessful football club ran by people like ourselves, i am more than happy to see THE GAS being ran by these people.

An e-mail i sent to Tom Gorringe Rovers commercial director at the time, back in January of 2019
Tom, I am very concerned at the moment regarding what i see relating to footballing matters within the club and of team performance. I have great respect for Wael but wonder who is advising him, after all there is no one alongside him that can be called a true Gashead. My advice to Wael would be to get someone with a longstanding passion for the Gas alongside him on the board. I have no confidence in the likes of these so called football executives ex other football clubs, no names no pack drill. I see you as the only bright light on our board of directors. At the moment i see a team, with a few exceptions , as being gutless and lacking in commitment. Tisdale is not the answer, if he cannot see this and accepts this level of commitment from the players then he should be replaced by a young, hungry and nasty b'stard.
So Gasheads you can possibly aim a degree of blame my way for the appointment of JOEY B***** !
:-)
