Tweet and article refuting the charge now deleted. I'm guessing that the club included too much information in their statement, probably only allowed to confirm that they will be appealing the charge.

Tweet and article refuting the charge now deleted. Seems more are realising that any comments played on such platforms can prejudice a case. I fully expect it to be due to this

Oh look, a thread designed to have a dig at the club and a club employee who is accused of homophobia, descends into homophobia.
You wonder why this site is dying?

Absolutely, change the so labelled homophobic stuff to benefits based content and you’d get a ton of likes.

Tweet and article refuting the charge now deleted. Just as well the Instagram post was removed, the first comment was: "What a snowflake world we live in." I know all clubs have them, but we do have our fair share of plonkers. And around the same time on the facebook pages you had people saying fans, players and pundits who expressed concern about Qatar's human rights were 'woke' and 'snowflakes'. You had people calling others who questioned laws on LGBT+ rights, and workers rights, 'woke' and 'snowflakes', while being outraged that there was no beer served. You had people not giving a fig if supporters weren't allowed to wear rainbow bucket hats in the ground, but were fuming that England supporters weren't allowed to wear St. George costumes in the stadium. 'Snowflake' - what a sh*te put-down. But if it does have to be used, you sometimes wonder just which group the snowflakes actually are.

Bristol Rovers coach Andy Mangan underlines free agent stance amid speculation over ex-Man United defender..
Bristol Rovers first-team coach Andy Mangan has denied claims that former Manchester United, Nottingham Forest and Reading defender Tyler Blackett has been training with the Gas but admits Joey B***** is open to the idea of adding a free agent to his squad, should the opportunity present itself.
Rovers added two players on deadline day - Aston Villa teenager Lamare Bogarde on loan and Calum Macdonald from Rochdale - to take their numbers of signings across the January transfers window to five, but B*****’s squad remains light in the centre of defence.
Rumours had begun to circulate that Blackett, who was released by FC Cincinnati in MLS in November, has been training at The Quarters ahead of potentially signing a contract and could do so after the deadline due to his status as a free agent.
Speaking on Thursday ahead of Saturday's League One fixture against MK Dons, in response to a question as to whether Blackett has been at the club, Mangan said: “No, no, no. I just saw it the other day, to be honest (on social media). I see that.
“He’s obviously a fantastic player and if he wants to come over and wants to sign, brilliant, we’ll have to sort that one out with Tom (Gorringe, CEO) and Eddy (Jennings, head of football operations). But, a really good player, huge experience - played loads of games in the Championship and has done ever so well out there in America - and someone who we’d definitely be interested in speaking to.”
Blackett has made 137 appearances in the Championship for Forest, Reading, Birmingham City and Blackpool, has spent time on loan at Celtic, plus appeared in 12 games for Manchester United at the start of his career.
A player like him or someone of similar profile would very much make sense for the Gas given he’s a left-sided centre-back and there is only currently one of them at the club in the injured Lewis Gibson.
Mangan concedes that despite their January recruitment programme being over, the club won’t stop looking for ways to enhance their squad, as was evidenced by the acquisition of Scott Sinclair on a free transfer in October.
“If I’m being totally honest, we’ll never stop being aggressive in the transfer market,” added Mangan. “If we feel that we can improve the squad and the team for the benefit of the football club, we’re going to do it.
“For example, if Tyler Blackett is out there on a free, he’s coming back from America. I don’t know whether Wayne Rooney wants to get fit again, lads [laughs]… But, all joking aside, if someone is going to present themselves and we feel it will help us, we will not stop being aggressive to make the team better.”

Andy Mangan: Bristol Rovers assistant manager cleared of homophobic abuse..i2-prod.bristolpost.co.uk/incoming/article7527658.ece/ALTERNATES/s810/0_JMP_Plymouth_Argyle_V_Bristol_Rovers_WC-370.jpgBristol Rovers assistant manager Andy Mangan has been cleared of making homophobic comments towards a Plymouth Argyle staff member. Mangan has, however, been fined £1,200 by the Football Association for using abusive and insulting language. The incident occurred at half-time during Rovers' home League One game against Argyle on 22nd October 2022. A statement said both Bristol Rovers and Mangan were "extremely pleased" with the verdict. "Both the club and Mr Mangan consider the use of the language that was alleged, to be reprehensible and inexcusable under any circumstances," it said. Mangan, 37, had been charged with an aggravated breach of FA Rule E3.2, which he denied. In its written reasons, the disciplinary commission said that while the words used by Mangan were "clearly objectively abusive and insulting" there was not "a sufficiently clear implied reference to sexual orientation to make out the element of aggravation".

So do Rovers think using abusive and insulting language is quite acceptable and nothing to be ashamed of ?

So do Rovers think using abusive and insulting language is quite acceptable and nothing to be ashamed of ? Oh do keep up swiss, Rovers famous DNA has changed. Those boring old things like caring about tradition, respect, loyalty, dignity and doing things 'the right way' are long gone. Hey, Rovers never achieved much, but BRFC had a strong identity. I used to be proud of them. I didn't even care if they were relegated, even into the Conference. Gasheads stuck with the team. The reward, an unforgettable day out at Wembley. DC sprinting down the pitch. That seems a very long time ago. Welcome to the new paradigm where abuse (both physical and emotional), insults, bullying, narcissism, spite, and self-aggrandisement are all part of the brave new world. These attributes are, of course, all a reflection of the manager. And it appears a decent amount of supporters are still giving him unequivocal support. Unacceptable and despicable behaviour has been normalised. Proud to be a Gashead? I don't even recognise the Club.

You can blame brexit or Covid or cost of living crisis the simple fact is We have like most clubs loads of meat heads supporting B***** despite everything It certainly worries me the broken society we live in. Knives with teenagers drugs..don't get me started The club needs to be examined by the new owners and decide is JB collateral damage I want him and the scouse mafia gone as well as Captain Finley. Appoint Byron Anthony with Lee Mansell pity Dc decided on Cheltenham Town would have loved him back.

Talk of eradicating weak and feeble-minded individuals sounds more like the philosophy of a club which was popular in 1930’s Germany. I’m now starting to have some concerns about the type of development which is planned at the Quarters.
