bristolroverssc.co.uk/jim-chappells-report-to-the-agm/But not without going down in a blaze. No mention of the years that John M was chair. Nice bit of airbrushing there. I’d like to say he will be missed, but I’m not one for telling porkies. Now is the chance for the SC to reinvent itself as a member led organisation, with a new, younger board carrying it forward. Not holding much hope of that though…

I have read this sort of thing on here. To me, it sounds like finger pointing rather than doing anything. Though it's beyond doubt that over the last 30 years the SC has done an awful lot I think
The whole scenario follows a pattern in that it is the President’s ambition to rid himself of all dissenting opinion in order to be loved by the support base – the sensible members of which can see our once proud club being dissembled before their very eyes.....
Don’t get me wrong, I sincerely believe that the President genuinely loves the club which is more than can be said of the Directors...
According to the Share Scheme Agreement that I am a signatory to, the Supporters Club is entitled to two Directors on the Board and we have two nominations that are being forwarded to the Football Club.

Erm… Higgs and G Dunford were doing exactly the same thing. Backed 100% by the SC. Hypocritical much Uncle Jim?

JC writes that he was always going to stand down now, so no difference has been made there. It doesn't say if the Vice Chair and Treasurer were leaving anyway or not
it seems odd that it has taken this/this long to get the 2 SC Directors nominations to the FC
reading it does seem to reinforce the sense that things have reached an irredeemable point (I sense that Colonel Mustard has been pushing water uphill). From the outside, it looks hard to see a way forward. Maybe some young bloods can find one
'the unfortunately named Presidents Club' bit did make me smile though!

the line about itb's (I presume it's his) letter seems odd....'his letter has been placed in the hands of the Supporters’ Club’s solicitors'
no suggestion that they are going to do anything about it, just trying to sound scary by giving the letter to someone else?
a bit like when the KM situation was referred to the SC's solicitors if so. Never heard another squeak about it, did we?

But not without going down in a blaze. More like barking at the moon while dressed as Joan of Ark. All rather pathetic on multiple fronts but, worst of all, this nonsense blocks the space where something sensible ought to have been.

I think things are taken as too binary. Jim Chappell = bad, Steve hamer = bad, SC/PC = bad. Any critic of Wael is bad and shown the door.
Much of what Jim says rings true and perhaps we should listen with a critical ear, or we can write him off as another bad guy and clap Wael all the way to the conference.

Any critic of Wael is bad and shown the door. that's the bit I don't see evidence for can you, or anyone, suggest any?

I don’t think that at all, there is a hell of a lot more that Wael and the board can do better. But the double standards displayed by the SC compared to the G Dunford and Higgs regimes are quite breathtaking.

How about going through the statement and addressing the points, that would be a bit more constructive than name calling.

Any critic of Wael is bad and shown the door. that's the bit I don't see evidence for can you, or anyone, suggest any? All allegedly, I have no evidence. Steve Hamer, Ken Masters, Jim Chappell, Darrell Clarke. The turnover of board members seems unusually high over 5 years but I have no idea why, that’s just an observation of a general pattern. I’m not taking sides here, I’m not anti-Wael or itk. I just see very binary views when perhaps there is an element of truth in the middle. Performance is terrible, there is no new stadium, Tommy W is still on the board, relationships with supporters groups are broken, somebody threw a carrot at our manager. There are grounds there to ask questions and criticise our owner even if he loves us all on Twitter. I thought there were some valid points in the press release but they are glossed over as our fans rejoice in a critic of Wael leaving the club and we can carry on enjoying our season

I logged on at lunchtime expecting to read our manager has been sacked. Instead I read this and it’s all a bit underwhelming and I’m a bit irritated about it all

I think we're all critics of Wael from time-to-time

Heigh ho..
