Were Aggy and Ashwin there? Any news on who picked up the corner flag at end of Southampton game. I'd pay thousands to have that as a momento. Yes they were both there, everyone claims they had the flag pole don’t they ?

Much inflated value? They've both gone for pittances! Granted the Snake went for pennies (his choice not ours) and do we really know what BBB went for? £400k according to Preston fans

Ye, it certainly done us well over the years. If you can think of a club with our supporter base that hasn't been in the top flight, let me know about it. Same old, same old. Plymouth Argyle, Peterborough United, Doncaster Rovers, Gillingham, Rotherham United, etc etc Other than perhaps Plymouth the rest don’t come anywhere near Rovers in regards to support base but Rovers have the potential to be larger than all of these n regards to potential support.

There's clearly a fair number of fans happy to be as we are and to stay at the Mem as it is; as to being lied to having so many false horizons they are clearly used to it and feel powerless. In regards to finances, there are clubs without a flashy new stadium doing as well if not better than Rovers. The concept of revenue off the pitch is immaterial to many so long as pints can be had in crummy bars with mates and you can stand on the terracing watching average, at best, football and be viewed/viewing themselves as real football supporters. To a certain degree I can understand their viewpoint, the last thing I want is to sit in a sanitised lookalike plastic bowl of a stadium, detached from the players and surrounded by corporate/hospitality boxes. The reputation of the AlQs is not in real danger, should they pull out they will disappear to Jordan, or Chelsea hospitality, and not be heard of again, they would not be the first owners of a football club to cut and run – and we would go through it all again. (The only thing keeping me going is seeing Wael in the stands, particularly away; he’s not going to get the big money, but is being drip fed the odd pound for scoreboards, toilets, covers on seats in bars...) As much as the thought of a soulless bowl doesn’t inspire I think larger crowds ,decent facilities and tidy football would create atmosphere, one things for sure it is not viable for our long term future to remain where we are . As a football club we need to step forward with greater investment, greater facilities and the bod need to get their cheque book out if we have any aspirations. Try reading a book called ‘Annis - my story’ an autobiography about an ex- Cardiff City soul crew hooligan turned entrepreneurial nightclub owner and multi- millionaire who developed a life friendship with the infamous Sam Hamaan, this infamous Mr Hamaan although castigated for irregularities at the club was instrumental in getting Cardiff their much needed new stadium as he realised that Cardiff could not survive at Ninian Park , Cardiff in a very similar situation then as we find ourselves now with the exception that they didn’t have a multi-million quid stadium complete with full planning approval ready to go ahead . The need for a new stadium is alarmingly obvious but this can’t happen over ten years because quite frankly we won’t need a new shiny stadium in ten years because we will more than likely be playing football in the eight tier having local derbies with Bath City and Swindon-super-marine in of 2000 crowds if we’re lucky. Please read the book.

The consensus of the "wake up and smell the coffee brigade" following Steve Hamer's radio session and Wael's pathetic interview yesterday is that we are being treated as mugs. I agree. Sad but true. What can we do? We can use the free press to ensure that the message gets out that all is not rosey with Smiley Waely's pipedream and that the supporters and manager feel betrayed by the promises that have culminated in the spectacular investment of a new club shop. That press outlet has to be The Gulf News and the like which impacts on the reputation of ALQs. The manager is now in open conflict and even the Chairman has been critical of the owners. Good material that will make the owner feel uncomfortable and will precipitate more investment or an acceleration of the end game. If the latter, let's get on with it. Not prepared to put up with years of stagnation whilst Wael comes up with crap like that. Not when there is planning permission for a new stadium and the greatest opportunity for investment that we have ever had. Marathon versus Sprint, it takes a long time etc. Who do they think we are? It's now or never. If Uwe is such a good deal, then why do they not want to do it? Still only seen a loads of rumours and stuff that does not even make sense. If Uwe was that good a deal for the club, they would have built it, as they could have sold us on for a profit, if that's what they wanted to do. If it's not a good deal and would lose us money, why would anyone want to build it? Why would it be such a good deal for us if someone else was in charge, but not now? I'm sure every one of you fans moaning on here have seen the terms Uwe wanted though? No you just like to guess and have a good moan. I smell a massive amount of deceit going on here because at one point possibly around about 14months ago a feasibility study needed to be carried out which is research that any would be investors can ensure that the proposed project will give them a return on their investment, this feasibility study was subsequently returned favourably , in fact at the time I was under the impression that this was just a case of dotting the I’s etc and then pretty much full steam ahead . What happened for all this to drastically not become viable ?🤔 Why was Michael Cunnagh let go and on the quiet also?

Well he has spent more than 135k hasnt he. He is using the net spent argument surely? If you sell 1 player for 300k and buy 3 for 300k for example you have still spent 300k on players surely you’ve spent £600k?

Oh dear did people really believe this gentlemens agreement was worth the paper it wasn't written on? A gentleman’s agreement is a verbal agreement usually by gentleman not sure if paper comes into it

Dunwald, as any other player, can decide what to do come the end of his contract with Rovers. If my employer had an agreement with their competitor that restricted my free movement then I'd not work for either of them. I'm sure all players also see it that way. the point is the sh1theads shouldn’t be showing an interest in him as per gentleman’s handshake.

dc signed bodin as well, isnt it obvious where im coming from with this? I know where you’re going with it and I agree with you he did sign the snake and billy but he also has a history of signing underperforming strikers as well , expensive underformers I hasten to add. But I really hope that Nicols finds his feet at some point because something tells me he may have this talent but only for a glimmer I seen from him during a pre-season friendly v WBA where he was put through one on one with their keeper and stuck the ball away neatly with the keeper out off his line narrowing the angle making it look all so easy , the sort of thing that the snake couldn’t ever seem to do and I remember saying so at the time that he looked more confident in that situation than Taylor ever did . I think the expectation put on young shoulders has taken its burden and as each game passes this burden increases and has affected his performances massively. Somehow he needs to try and lose this mentality and play with more composure in front of goal and perhaps just perhaps he may have something , on the other side of the coin we have gave him time plenty of it in fact and not sure how much more time can be attributable towards the Nicols cause this season because of the position we find ourselves in .

I agree with the OP I don’t think it’s negative at all to be fair as Nicols is looking like another expensive dud just like Luke James so yes DC has a history of signing some strikers who can’t score. You wouldn’t employ a cook if he didn’t know his way around a kitchen would you? Same applies dc signed taylor i know and?

I wish, looks like Clarke has bought another very expensive dud as regards scoring still time I know.Cant help but think Clarke's philosophy of buying strikers with potential to score lots of goals is a bit flawed most other teams buy players that are already prolific in that department and then try and improve other aspects of their game. Yawn, the next thread with a bit of negative. Do people sit and think, right then what else is s***e about following our club. Back it up with some examples please. I suppose you mean like 82 buying tried and trusted Snake? I agree with the OP I don’t think it’s negative at all to be fair as Nicols is looking like another expensive dud just like Luke James so yes DC has a history of signing some strikers who can’t score. IIRC Dear old Joe 90 has either a BS10 or BS7 postcode, reasonably sure he is a Meader. Methinks that BS5 is yanking your chains. Classic troll deflection tactics. And I’ll throw it the the ring that I dwell in bs7 nowadays and on off for 27years , but as I grew up an Eastville boy bs5 it is 😉
