I was guessing that this means everyone would get a 12 month contract offer at least equivalent or the same as what they have now. For some that will probably not be good enough so will move on like Monkhouse did last year and some will get improved offers. Either way everyone has a fall back option. Happy if that is the case as if we are fortunate enough to go up DC will need some room in his squad to improve it.

I'd like Wycombe to lose all their games deliberately and be chucked out the league for match-fixing, reprieving York which is a much nicer place to go. But how would that work on points gained against Wycombe? Would we be better or worse off?

I get an e-mail from the club every week with details of games and tickets available and other news. I am a member of the Supporters Club so not sure if that makes a difference ? I can't remember a time when I didn't get a regular email from the club. Was only a SC member for last season so I could vote for Rod in the supporters directors election so have been receiving them a long time before that.

Don't be so quick to judge, bulbous could be on to something here. If people who go to church always tell the truth all we need to do is pop down to The Vatican and ask where they've hidden all the child abusers. EDIT. You are far too generous to that Lady, most young earth creationists have the age of not only this planet but the entire universe at around 6000 years, she's out by billions of years, not millions. bamber its hard to convey things in written word but all im saying is religion imo is a right load of bollocks but each to their own and this lady is as nice as they come anyway we are going in circles here All those priests helping young children were as nice a person as you could meet, they just had a different view on fun. Absolutely unbelievable that we should believe people because they are religious.

Not sure what point you are making (nothing new there). Professional people do cost money some bring in more money than they cost & a lot don't. I'm talking about the here & now and you seem to be living in the past. Not living in the past, quite the opposite. I'm looking at the CVs of Wael's team and am delighted that he's assembling a team of experienced professionals with a track record of delivering projects. I hope we are paying them well. Oddly why do you keep bringing up the past then? As to your question I'm sure we are (well I'm presuming it's a question as it wasn't a statement).

You may well not be an accountant but you must have noticed all the new names being employed. Are they doing the work for free, out of some charitable reason? Employing professional people costs money. Of course, Barry will probably turn up for free and argue with fans in a dark room with a carpet that stinks of beer about putting half a dozen t-shirts in the shop until they decide it's pointless and all give up. I was under the impression Wael had paid off all the club debt, so essentially the club should be making considerably more profit than simply making an allowance for an increase in head count on the gate; I am no accountant, Wael and his family own a bank, they know what they are doing, I am so glad the club is no longer being run by Higgsie, Boycie and tony-the-till. I don't believe the old board got paid, there was basically no money to pay them with. Since the new owners have arrived they've employed a lit of people and only got rid of twatola so I have to presume costs have gone up since they arrived. As to next season if we get promoted (fingers firmly crossed) players wages will have to increase but I don't forsee crowds increasing over what they are now(perhaps with a good season, and that's a big ask, the average may increase). In summary I'd say if we haven't made a profit (if you exclude the Wonga loan which was a one off cost hopefully not to be repeated) this season we'll never make a profit whilst at the Mem.

As you said recently Jeff, it's surprising how quickly Sky Sports can get the highlights posted nowadays. But I shall be even more interested in seeing how DC manages the Steve Mildenhall conundrum. Will he, won't he? He should but I expect he won't.

Just got tickets in Kingswood shop and the only ones left are in East and North terrace. I normally stand on the West terrace but was told they sold out 3 days ago. I was just unable to get to the shop before today so I wasn't able to get tickets for the West. I didn't even think of online purchase. I have blught online before but it turned into a pulava as I had to go to the ticket office on the match day and missed 15 minutes of the game. Before anyone starts about not getting there early enough, I was in the queue at 14:40. Maybe it was just a bad day but it put me off doing so again. Hopefully we will have more people manning the ticket office and turnstiles now ? Are you talking about Friday's game or season tickets? Got a West enclosure season ticket yesterday no problem.

I would have though revealing the number would have been an excellent marketing ploy. No doubt a swear word to the old guard.... "With 4901 tickets sold things are looking up for this season. If we make 5,000 ST the club will give away 5 free home shirts".... To go one further, why not have something like, for every 1000 STs sold BRFC will give away 1 home KIT and one away KIT? Would cost the club £120 per 1000 ST peanuts! Would be better still for every season ticket bought to have a five or ten quid voucher to spend in Pirate Leisure! There is a free draw at the first home match & the winner will have the cost of their ST refunded.

Sounds like there could be chaos at the turnstiles on Friday. I'd suggest everyone arrives earlier than normal, that will help out us lot leaving the Civil Service at 2.45 no end. Cheers in advance.

I'm willing to bet anyone that there's between 13 to 18,000 at the game against Cambridge. 13000 - 18000? You're on! Looks like you're both betting on different numbers. I reckon the Dr will be proven to be correct come Friday.

If there is any truth in the rumour he has signed a pre-contract with Hearts then we don't "have the makings a top class striker on our hands!". Why would he go the Hearts when Millwall are looking at him ? He isn't, alledgedly, see post above

but very good for BRFC (if not for myself as the seller)
do you have any speculation as to the price paid? In simple sums the net asset value might have been something like....
value of the Mem (absent Sainsburys, but with pp) £15m debts to directors, Wonga, solicitors' bills and others -£7m NAV £8m plus 'goodwill'
if, say, the Al Qadi's paid £15m they would have paid £7m for goodwill and the 'net future value of cashflows generated'. Might that be within sight of the ballpark I'm wondering?
Hopefully it will be very very good for the club and the fans because it couldn't have been much worse. As to the purchase price paid, I would bet that it was much lower than most people would think. If NH got £15m from Wael for the club he's an absolute genius. Can't imagine it would be anything like that.
