Psssssssssss -just heard on the grapevine, to add some exrtra punch to the squad, two more veterans offered contracts namely Ryan Giggs and Mike Tyson - after all Its a no brainer! Tyson has demons but works hard at being a better man. The former Manchester United footballer, Ryan Giggs, will face trial in January 2022 on charges of actual bodily harm and assault after allegedly headbutting his ex-girlfriend and hitting her sister............... So could RG, having gained management experience with Wales, seamlessly drop Into the managers role should JB not turn our fortunes around?

We have a winged and unstable manager with a dysfunctional owner and lacklustre BoD.

Why am I suddenly concerned that we will not sign another forward this window??
I am big on managers being responsible for transfer windows and dealings, given my blaming for last season on Tisdale.
I will be disappointed if that proves the case again.
Just Pitman is not the answer.

Given the strong feelings for and against Barton within the world of football at all levels, do you think that this could hamper his bid to sign players?

Players still want game time and money. Managers come and go in a season! So no players have morals unlike the great unwashed. I don't think that is true. You are correct that most players value the length and value of a contract more than anything else including any sort of loyalty to the club and its supporters.

Ben Liddle gone out on loan so most of the modest players gone but we are not getting anyone in!!!!!!! Liddle and Baldwin I think were BG's signings. Must be due a striker for the Barrow game but getting a bit late in the day!!!!

And to think i was going to close the poll Tuesday - i will keep it open just to see if, hot off the Press (football league) :
The only saving grace for Rovers is that they currently have thirty six year old Leon Clarke training with them and as he is a free agent, they would be able to sign him after the deadline of Tuesday night.
Assuming they both come on board, along with Pitman they could all play ⚽ 30 minutes each ( that's on the basis they don't end up 'injured ' 👨🦽👨🦽👨🦽 and on the freedosh@brfc.com 💰💰💰 Nevertheless i will stay positive and i am still half glass full🍺 Albeit the 'don't drink' have a bit of a lead - Are they Teetotenders?

Honestly, no, football is football So other than the two oldies on trial, which other out of contract strikers will be desperate to sign for Joey Barton's Rovers?

Any mercenary who has an agent that can pull the wool over our eyes. Totally agree with you that not all players are so inclined. There are a good number of principled players about, many of who would be attracted to pricipled managers, like Darrell for example. Anyone who expressly signs because Barton is manager, is a worry to me.

In the scenario JB now has maybe £200,000 to spend ,maybe there's a 4th or 5th tier goal scorer worth signing

I think we will end up with Leon Clarke (more or less the same age as Ronaldo) and Bobby Duncan on short term.
Bobby Duncan is scouse, temperamental and without a club but has good pedigree being Steven Gerrards cousin.

Bobby Duncan sounds like a game kids would play with apples around Halloween time.
