Hopefully Kevin's experience can be a real benefit to the team and Joey. Could be a very good signing. Will KB be the new BRFC manager for JB after he resigns / or sacked..?

Bond seems to be rated as a coach or assistant manager because he gets employed plenty. No comment on his abilities in this either way, but hasn't about 95% of his employment been by one person? That might be that he's judged to be wonderful and indispensable by a great judge of these things, but might also mean he's a good mate and foil to that guy. No pre-judgement, but I don't think the implication of 'clearly much in demand' is altogether rock solid. Good luck to the guy, though. At least we've get a ready stand-in as caretaker manager come the day, so that's a step forward.

Bristol Rovers F.C can today confirm the addition of Kevin Bond to Joey Barton's first-team coaching staff. The 64-year-old has a wealth of coaching experience, working in the Premier League at Portsmouth, Southampton, Tottenham and QPR as Harry Redknapp's Assistant Manager. Bond managed AFC Bournemouth between 2006 and 2008 and his most recent role was as Manager of Southend United. Bond will be in the dugout for today's Sky Bet League Two fixture against Exeter City. Well, that’s a relief.you can never have too many managers, assistants, coaches and chief bottle washers in the dug out. It was noticeable yesterday that when there was a break and water was being handed out that Exeter had one or two doing this while a small crowd emerged from our dugout to perform this important task. Its getting to to the stage where we’ll have to ask away teams to provide us with a bigger area. How much are all these people costing the club?

Its getting to to the stage where we’ll have to ask away teams to provide us with a bigger area. How much are all these people costing the club? That was also noticed from where we were sat near to the Rovers dugout. None of us had a clue who they all were, they must need an extra bus just to get to away games. I wonder if any of the were there to advise Barton that his tactics were inept which Exeter exploited from the first whistle by attacking down the wings, stretching the back 3 and being 4 up before everybody had taken their seats.

Former Bristol Rovers coach set to be named Director of Football at National League Yeovil Town..upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/1/1d/Kevin_Bond.jpg/200px-Kevin_Bond.jpgFormer Bristol Rovers coach Kevin Bond is being lined up as Yeovil Town’s new director of football, five months after he left the Mem. Bond was a key member of Joey Barton’s backroom staff over 15 months as a veteran presence in the dressing room and on the training ground and often tasked with coaching the defence, having previously worked with the Gas manager when he was a player at QPR. However, his exit was confirmed in October after Barton brought Danny Ventre to north Bristol over the summer with the Rovers boss citing the reasons as being due to “too many cooks in the building” and a need to streamline his backroom team. Yeovil’s turbulent existence continues with the Glovers subject of a proposed takeover at the end of February by SU Glovers Limited, a company set up by mother and son Julie-Anne and Matt Uggla with former England rugby union international Paul Sackey also involved. The Ugglas have been named “stewards” of the National League strugglers with Scott Priestnall still listed as owner on the club’s website and an active director on Companies House, as the takeover has yet to be formerly completed despite Matt Uggla stating last week that he expected to own the club by Monday morning. In a series of Twitter posts on Sunday night the owner-in-waiting revealed that the Glovers were soon to welcome a new Director of Football. That was followed on Monday by a tweet in which he said: “Kevin Bond in the door what a man.” There has been no official confirmation by Yeovil over the appointment. Bond worked as a coach at Rovers, QPR, Tottenham, Portsmouth and Southampton, and manager at Bournemouth and Southend United but has never held a Director of Football position. A move to Somerset would also reunite the 65-year-old with former Gas CEO Martyn Starnes who has been in the same role at Huish Park since October. Bond has spent a significant part of his coaching career working under Harry Redknapp who was a guest of Yeovil’s new stewards at Huish Park earlier this month for their league clash against Eastleigh. On Saturday, in the wake of their 1-0 defeat to Bromley which has left Yeovil 20th in the National League and one point above the relegation zone, manager Mark Cooper admitted Matt Uggla was leading the club’s recruitment operation. “We are always going to differ on targets and players we are going to bring in, that’s just the way it is, Matt has made it clear he is going to recruit the players he is going to recruit and that’s fair enough – it’s his money and it’s his club,” Cooper said.

Yeovil are a basket case, perhaps less so if Bondy signs for them.

Survive this season and I’m sure KB will be a good addition to the club.

"Could be worse, could be National League South..." local derby with Bath city.... could be carnage!!! I don’t know if tongue in cheek but since we were there, Bath have a group of nasty buggers that can cause a ruckus if there is one to be had. We left some kind of legacy there. Jim Rollo, retired ex captain of romans was the one who would tell me of this.

I do get incensed having to listen to the match preview and reports on Radio Bris for YTFC, I don’t really have any interest whatsoever in how they’re doing. I did email Radio Bris on the coverage and the argument/reply I got was that they are contractually obliged to cover Yeovil’s games and have some agreement with Radio Somerset. If Yeovil do get relegated they’ll be in the same league as Bath and Taunton, and personally I’d much rather hear how they’re doing then Yeovil!

I usually try and get to a couple of Bath City games each season, and haven't noticed anything untoward. I know that, since my childhood, there has been a certain type of Bathonian who would go to Twerton Park for a high profile cup games with a view to causing trouble - you'd never see them at a run of the mill League game. I think the Yeovil game will definitely have an edge to it.

While we're at it,is'nt the Yeovil Weymouth game the 'big one',as it were? from way back, old conference league times, Weymouth were always noted for dishing out "some" when the game arose
