After tonight's events, has anyone asked Ken if it is, indeed, coming 'ome?

Gareth Southgate is now the 2nd best England manager behind Alf Ramsey, he has a 4th place & a Euro semi-final to Ramsey's World Cup win and a 3rd place in the 1968 Euro's. IMO we have nothing to fear from Denmark, Spain or Italy TBH. Come on England, let's make our 1st major Final for 55 years. Sir Gareth it is then.

Southgate has done nothing noble or spectacular to warrant a knighthood. He’s managing a group of players very well paid who are well skilled. The state doesn’t need to reward someone for doing their job, the FA has already given him a long term contract. I just hope this teams success erodes brand Beckham’s influence.

If memory serves, if England win this competition Southgate will have a record of having won a total of 2 games against teams in the FIFA top 10 in tournaments. As we stand today, he's won a big fat 0. Germany were ranked 12th going in to this competition. Right now Denmark are 10th, Spain 6th, Italy 7th. www.fifa.com/fifa-world-ranking/men?dateId=id13295

On a slightly different subject, did the BBC somehow and in real time edit the taking of the knee? I saw our team did it whilst the Ukrain didn’t, but it was all over in a flash and the commentators didn’t seem to mention it, whereas they’re normally all over it in true BBC fashion.

When considering it was a quarter final of the European Championships, England spanked the Ukraine.
Great performances alround,Harry continues to score goals.
Gareth Southgate in the midst of great work.

I take little notice of our 'glorious ' Premiership.
Big heads, boring egos, vulgar wealth etc.Not easy to like.
Then there's great athletes, dedicated to their sport, great coaches, modern fitness science, health food etc are also part of top division.
Infact the attractive and unattractive I've mentioned are also seen in Englands second tier of football.
I've thought this more or less since the reign of Gareth Southgate began.....
At the launch of the 'Prem',we were told it would deliver us a "national team to be proud of",I remember this. For about three decades this statement has been scoffed at,ridiculed and quite rightly so.Iceland!
Since Gareth Southgate took the reigns ,the Premier bosses boast of having a very good England team actually looks true.At last.
We have very good players and in Mr Southgate a very good national manager. We pass the ball in a way rarely seen before by our national team.Eg.
So,it seems to of taken 30 years or so,but ,we are now in the midst of our top divisions brilliance, reaching out into our national team and at last, giving us an England team "to be proud of".
This success may change our game again and we'll have to see what happens next.

A little bolder in selection and it was indeed a spanking. At 4-0 it looked like there was a shake of hands and we promised not to score if they promised not to kick us. Perhaps it does know the way home after all. This time, more than any other time...

Mr Southgate is the archetypal FA man, articulate and well turned out and there is no doubt that he comes across as an extremely likeable and diligent head coach / manager but it would be well not to forget the back room staff of the current England set up and in Steve Holland he has a first rate technician to guide him along and if this pairing continue then I think only good things will come for the National side.

Totally agree, I mean on Wednesday we won’t be playing ‘The’ Denmark or we didn’t draw 0-0 with ‘The’ Scotland did we ? I think it all stems back to when Ukraine was a department of the Soviet Union but those days seem to have gone now much to the displeasure of some people in Moscow.

Pedants corner. It isn't "the Ukraine", it's "Ukraine". as anyone who watched Top Gear will know I heard it on the radio the other day. "The Ukraine" is a throwback from the USSR days and the Ukranian bloke (on radio) said he finds it "quite offensive".

They are doing all they can to have us lose by banning any British National to be allowed a ticket. Did they do this with other teams ? No. Only resident English will be allowed a ticket. If I was a player this would be perfect to make me play out of my skin. I know it’s early days but IF we make it to the final, I hope we do something similar. What’s good for the goose and all that To be fair KP all the other teams are from fully paid up members of the EU. We're not any more and have to be reminded of our foolishness at every opportunity. It’s just petty payback. I’m overjoyed that we hammered the Ukrainians, absolutely delighted.

Think I heard all the semi final teams played their group games at home, with England having that game and if won,the final at Wembley too. I don't think we've much steady ground to argue from.

No, they showed it, and the reaction wasn't positive. That's what happens when you aren't at Wembley and you can't turn up the PA to drown out public opinion then falsely state that kneeling is met with 'overwhelming support'.

They did not take the knee for long and you could hear the booing. Luckily it was very quick.

If it's still going on at the start of next season when crowds are back in grounds it's not difficult to see how differences of opinion are going to escalate into disturbances amongst supporters.
