Be interesting to see what the PL do about this, safety control and ground security come into play here, will it be big boys being untouchable,,? whereas if it were L1 and below there would be sanctions no doubt, rule for one etc!!

It's an odd one, protesting against the Glaziers.
Their financial performance is superb.
They want to think themselves lucky that Kroenke didn't buy them.

I struggle to feel any sympathy toward Premier league fans saying 'they want their club back'. Come August they will be moaning the board haven't made a gazillion pound bid for the latest superstar and accuse them of lack of ambition for 'only' offering £100k a week to hold onto whoever their current darling is.

It’s difficult to read this but how on earth did some 200-300 fans gain access to the pitch? I wouldn’t have thought it was about jumping over a fence and walking on the pitch. I could perhaps understand it happening lower down the pyramid but not at one of the biggest clubs in the world. Blimey, their security must be crap. What should happen? I guess a points deduction to deter others from doing it would be the most effective sanction and enough to prevent them qualifying for the Champions League which in the circumstances as part of the reason for the protests would be highly ironic. Effectively, a bit like Bolton last season and Bury, they have stopped a match from happening because of not enough security / police to control what all of Manchester and football knew was going to be a big protest. Liverpool must be absolutely steaming about the postponement, not that I have any sympathy for them considering the way their fans think it’s ok to attack team coaches arriving at their ground. (Man C last season, and again this season against some European team). Which all goes to show, imo, that some of the fans associated with these clubs think they can do anything without incurring any real punishment. About time the PL, FA put them right and gave a very large and meaningful penalty which would have consequences for the club. But of course that won’t happen. Also, I presume the fans on the pitch have broken some law or other so I hope the police will act. Some had masks on but others didn’t. Long term ground bans from grounds in England should be applied to those fans and even life-time bans from Manchester United perhaps. But something should be done. If it isn’t, it gives a message to everyone that you can do what you want and the consequences..... well there are no consequences. A very bad message to give. UTG!

Not sure the Clubs will want to do anything to these supporters as all that will do is add fuel to the fire. The "Big 5 +Spurs" seem to all be doing the "we're very sorry and we're listening to fans" routine (with their fingers well and truly crossed behind their backs). What annoyed me was part of the protest resulted in police being injured. Now these people need to face the full force of the law. Violent thugs must be held to account. These Clubs would not want to be associated with that sort of person. I mean, can you imagine at Bristol Rovers.... oh hang on.

Epping, perhaps you’re right about the clubs not wanting to do anything, more so from the pov that it could happen to any club and they wouldn’t want to say do this and two weeks later find they’re in the same boat. But those who injured the officers and, presumable, broke doors, gates to enter OT and then parade on the pitch with their selfies are thugs and they must have broken the law and they need to be held to account, as you said. If the clubs don’t do anything to them because of what you said “fans” will soon learn that they can do stuff like that with no consequences. But I’m sure you’ll probably be proved right. Nothing will happen. UTG!
