Go on, cheer yourselves up with the highlights of this match earlier today....at least we scored!
3-4. The first goal is worthy of some sort of award!
So we've lost two games in two days to rivals of each other..

Some good worked goals by both teams, could they do any worse by blooding a few in the 1st team, if we are gonna lose 4-3 is at least exciting.

I find it really bizarre how academy kids throughout the game struggle to break into first teams. My mate's son plays for City u23s. His goalscoring record is phenomenal, as it was when he played Western League (aged 15) & Southern League. Scored for Torquay in a brief spell there (admittedely not at Stockport when he went there) and now he is back at City scoring for fun. His case is not particularly unusual, I just don't get why teams won't give it a go any more. BTW, it goes without saying, Rovers didn't respond when tipped off about my mate's son .

Rex - I am glad you mentioned that. We blooded Bater, Martin Thomas, Keith Curle, Ian Holloway, Gary Mabbutt, Paul Randall when they were teenagers.
Personally, I think that squads are far too big which limits chances. Also, there is almost a meek acceptance that teenagers are ill-equipped for first team action. For example, Hoole looks a good player when I have seen him, but he is behind Williams, Little and Hare. He might be better than all of them, but he needs 10-15 games to prove it. The next test case is Tom Mehew? Joe Morrell at City looks like a missed opportunity for them.

Kieron Phillips and Harry Warwick I keep banging on about are two young strikers in the development academy and both 19 now who deserve an opportunity. If you don't try them in the cut and thrust of league one football we will never know if they are good enough to cope and progress.
Martinez and Walker have already had promising debuts. Put Tom Mehew on the bench and give him 25 mins or longer.

Todays game Rovers: Trialist, Lovelock, Egan, Biss, Heal, Mehew, Budd, Tomlinson, Jones, Phillips, Warwick.
Two nil down at half time.

I hope Joey or Clint was watching the development side and can select one or two for Friday or Mondays squad.

I hope Joey or Clint was watching the development side and can select one or two for Grids or Mondays squad. They weren't at the game v Exeter at Melksham although our DOF was in attendance.

Some seriously, sloppy defending for Oxford's Second - Surely good enought to be fast tracked into the first team for Good Fridays game!
