We can all dwell to much on stats. As the mighty emperor has said they don't resemble the games that we have watched. Look at them and throw them away. As we know with stats, 75% of them are made up, the other 30% are just wrong

Grant's back!
And a start for all 3 of our strikers.... hoping Hanlan will adopt a wider role as that's his preferred.
Let's do this.
COME ON YOU BLUES!

Looks like 4-3-3 to me tonight?

is it? Or a lot of efforts not clear opening. Are they counting headers as shots as there has been loads from set pieces that went no where near goal but wasn’t obvious chances. From the 83 I can’t remember too many blatant misses that should have been finished. Yes, a subtle but key distinction. We've played a lot of balls over to the top rather than creating chances on the deck through the middle. With my novice coaching hat on, I'd like a back 4 tonight, pack the midfield and go from there. Probably just play Ayunga up top, rather than with Hanlan. As you highlighted in a different thread, we need to start controlling games in the midfield, giving us chance to develop good attacking patterns. do have we control of that midfield with this team selection? the 3 strikers will have to come back and get themselves in passing and pressing? 4 3 3 is formation associated with Dutch total football. Not a long ball style. Grant may even play as central defender? Westbrook and messi out, everyone else to be the passers and space finders? Much gut reaction is I can’t see much ball retention or through balls. I’m sure we will get chances, it’s a case of taking them.

Right, I'm watching again, although I really do think it will be the last time if I don't see a decent performance!

Totally different tactics.
From high tempo and pressing to almost walking.
The Swindon defence look like they have lead boots on.

Yes, I'm wondering if we should have started with Oz (if fit enough) & Westbrooke, rather than Hanlan & Daly. Swindon's shape is very good and we're being pushed back into our own half all the time.

Ayunga seems to have Swindon's defenders swarming all over him; and Hanlan permanently has his back to goal. None of the front 3 seem to be making good runs off the ball to create some space?

Yes, I'm wondering if we should have started with Oz (if fit enough) & Westbrooke, rather than Hanlan & Daly. Swindon's shape is very good and we're being pushed back into our own half all the time. Daly has been our best player. If Hanlon is nursing Achilles then messi or Westbrook in for him would give us foot on ball option. To aid transition. they have clearly come for the point, all but Pitman behind the ball and don’t get tight till we get closer. is lack of clear chance either end a problem? Not for me. I am happy with this at moment. We look more likely to nick this in second half.
