In his post-match interview, B***** flippantly remarked that their goalkeeper's tackle for which we should have had a penalty was worse than what he went to prison for. Jesus wept, he's still playing hard done by.

A good interview.He's a real football man.
His comment on 'going to prison for less' was made with self awareness and it does'nt mean he has a bad understanding of his offence.
There's lot of strong determination in Joey. I think he has excellent communication skills, vital in football management.

It was alight hearted throw away comment, nothing more nothing less. I think he talks really well and he also can back that up with how he gets a team playing, I think there has been a distinct improvement in performances, although not consistently with results(yet).
My two main concerns are that firstly, he is obviously going to whinge about match officials, which gets right on my f**king nerves, how he slated the ref from last night was cringeworthy. Secondly, there is a very real chance he could be going to prison, where on earth does that leave us? I have a horrible feeling Wael's 'plan' consists of hoping B***** can stop us going down, then worry about the rest later!

Sorry Basil, it was not made with self-awareness but from a burning resentment and the need to hit out at every opportunity. He hasn't dealt with his demons at all and is doomed to repeat the same behaviour over and over again until it dawns on him. The debate is not about whether or not he's good at his job but whether he will last the course. That kind of flippancy will get him another prison sentence come June.

Internet warriors or a valid opinion on a forum setup for expressing valid opinions? I think he interviews very well and I like what he says other than his constant issues with refs. But I have the concerns which I’ve done to death on here and won’t go away. But this is me being objective and trying to give credit where it’s due

I have a horrible feeling Wael's 'plan' consists of hoping B***** can stop us going down, then worry about the rest later! There's a serious issue with the standard of officials. It's poor at this level and always has been. What's the point of working all week towards a game when an official can decide the outcome with incorrect or inconsistent decision making? No idea what happened last night, but delighted that supporters are happy to have got the result they wanted, but here's what B***** was sent to prison for, somehow I doubt that the keeper drank 10 pints of lager, 5 bottles of lager, which is what B***** claims, and then did this;

Is there a manager who does not mention a ref at some point in the season? Lots do it repeatedly. Can't remember last time I heard praise for one. Think it happened once.
There again how often to fans praise a ref?

The manager has a sense of humour!
Personally, in the context of the interview, it's veering towards Ollie-esque type of interview where again, some will like, some won't, and some won't notice or care.
It's better than the sense of humour to not start a striker at an away match, then blame the journey when you don't score!?
....or, on an important league game include an erroneous little featured midfielder....I like Ben Liddle, but seriously?

There again how often to fans praise a ref? Its ok unless you’re Ben Garner, and you’re ridiculed every time you mention a ref. As I said, I think B***** speaks well but banging on about refs is a bit Sam Ricketts. We can see they’re crap, but you need to pick your battles

Hmm...I don’t see it that way, but after doing well with the diplomacy in refusing to be drawn on previous goings on under previous managers referring to his jail encounters in an interview as manager of the club is not very professional or doing much for the club’s public image. But y’know, I guess I’m just a snowflake like that 🤷♂️

But this is me being objective and trying to give credit where it’s due I want to like him because as you say he has his finger on the pulse on the problems. But after a resounding win I found it hard to get any enjoyment out of it because Rovers winning means B***** furthers his career and as I said the other day it feels like his career has never really suffered for what he’s inflicted on other people- he always comes up trumps no matter how awful he has been and it doesn’t feel right in many ways.

Some call it karma others call it universal balance. It may not happen when expected but it does happen. I’m talking from personal experience and from seeing what has happened to others

There are 40,000 Gashead's (well 39995 ) who want JB to keep us up, and for the 'greater good' that's what he said he's going to do -(Stay) UTG!

There again how often to fans praise a ref? I don't see an issue mentioning it when the ref gets it wrong but clearly he got it right although for the wrong reasons apparently. The goalkeeper punched the ball out for a throw in (on the Farhand Side ), the assistant referee got it spot on.

the prison comment was a bit of a flippant/throwaway thing. Like most managers he will get a pass because it was a good result and the penalty/non-penalty wasn't a game changing incident
the prison comment though and I said before, just makes me wonder how he would have/will react if there is a bit of pressure on, and their is a vocal ground egging him on, or on his back. That is the acid test and why I am hesitant to get behind B***** the manager

It was a Batiston moment. Why don’t refs give those? What are they thinking when they watch already over protected gk inflict GBH?
The camera followed Joey after the whistle, plodding in direction to officials. Once his bloods up, he has no control or method for cooling himself down does he?

Except Batiston didn't get anywhere near the ball, the AS keeper got a clean punch on it. No penalty was the correct call by both officials who were close to the play unlike the commentators who called it wrong.

Plan a b and c shredded, Faustian pact just to try to keep L1 status. When Joey is jailed and banned the club must be better at achieving plans and goals
