Pete Beadle. Inspired against the s***e (erm - before he joined them, that is). Hammered in a hat-trick against Wigan Pierthetic in the 1998 5-0 drubbing. Omen? Probably not. Sigh. On that basis, Robbie Turner. Went to City, beat up several of their players and shagged the managers wife. Well done agent Turner.

Wow. That's movie material. I will get Robbie to write the script the next time I see him. The last time I did see him he was still making new and explosive chapters.

Will come back to players later, but without Dennis and Geoff Dunford it's not an exaggeration to say that it's highly unlikely that Rovers would have found a route to survival through losing Eastville. Forget the disagreements with people Geoff worked with, that happens in high pressure situations, without those 2 guys we could very well have gone the way of Scarborough and Bury. This is something that someone needs to explain to Wael as he merrily squanders the equity and security in our stadium. Totally agree, would be great to see Denis and Geoff inducted jointly as first inductees. People try to argue that Wael saved us from going out of business - these guys genuinely did. The treatment of Geoff in later years is a stain on our history which can never be removed To be fair @vlad Geoff did not help himself in this, he could be extremely provocative, defensive and would block you, once he had the last word. I tried, very hard, to get some incredible photos put out to the media but Geoff put that to bed, very quickly. This was all for free and would have been of interest to many non rovers fans. Sadly, my last words with Geoff were angry and he went out of his way to get others to abuse me, via Twitter. Sad but true. I found Dennis to be the polar opposite and a real man’s man. I always enjoyed my chats with him and his wife, who was seemingly always knitting as we spoke

I can remember introducing my Mum to Denis for the first time and of course he was absolutely charming to her. When we got home she was still in a bit of a tizzy and said to me "oh, he's got such film star looks". Mum would have been about 60 at the time but I still recall thinking to myself "I do hope Mrs Dunford doesn't find out !"

Denis was, in every way a true gent and yet always the polo T shirt, whatever the weather. I would have loved to have more opportunities to talk with him

I hope that when the non league team is put into the hall players like Dave Martin are remembered for their contribution at a difficult time.

Joan was an amazing woman who held no prisoners and Geoff was very much Mummy's boy in the very nicest of ways.

Thank you for reminding me of her name as I felt quite ashamed that I couldn’t remember it and thought it was Margaret. Lovely lady who could also hold a good conversation. Am I right about the knitting ?

I'm surprised Gerry Francis is not nominated more.
