Bristol Rovers Fun Day or Protest Day
The third Sunday in July is normally the Bristol Rovers Football Club annual fun day at the Memorial Stadium.
Is it scheduled to take place this year? Or is this another event where the Board are not prepared to face the fans?
In my view there is a real danger that unless the Board start engaging in a proper dialogue with the fans the "Fun Day" will become a "Day of Protest".
Nick Higgs and the BOD clearly have got to act quickly to sort out the "chasm" that they have created with the fans before this mess gets even worse.
We are all crest-fallen Nick - please do not make it even worse.

They'll be pie-smelling scoffs from box 1 from any please. I bet the directors wipe their arse with black and gold scarfs.

Since relegation they have only managed to, amazingly, make things even worse. Only this BoD could manage that one with such ease. Lets be honest, there was never gonna be any proper 'review' at the club, they offered that merely to placate the fans. I expected them to do everything in their power to keep fans onside following relegation though, not do that exact opposite! I should have known better. What an absolute shambles.

Spot on Wes. The contempt for the fans is unbelievable!
I won't be attending another game until the board issue the review in full as promised.
I reckon they are happy to survive on season ticket money alone - complete and utter shambles. Amateur, Sunday pub football teams have been run better.
I will sign up (and encourage others) to BRISA as the only other form of protest available.

This board bashing nonsense is very childish at times and quite boring. I guess it is a reflection of todays society where people want someone sacked when things go wrong. Fans were part of the downfall in my opinion..... Slagging off our own players for years on the forum, demanding the sacking of successive managers and now its the board? Ladies and gents, please be careful what you ask for, you might just get it and find that the grass is not greener on the other side! Unite behind everything rovers, including the board and we will be stronger.

Pretty sad that it took less than two minutes for a couple of posters to jump on Diddygas.
The fact that the two are both administrators merely confirms my view that only people with total contempt for the board are appropriate on this forum.

The administrators are allowed to engage in discussion as well, aren't we? The tone and discussion of the forum is dictated, without censorship, by the 650+ members, not by the three people who happen to do the admin work for it.

H'mm "they have made things worse since relegation". Well closed / suspended the official forum. Well firstly we were one of a handful of clubs with a forum, but I will say the innocent got punished with the guilty here. Yes there were some posts that were slanderous, and if no one is willing to moderate, then yes "close it". Then they go to the FA / FL with a complaint about Wycombe. I have no complaint against that, if Wycombe cheated then they need to be punished. What else have they done?
I'm not a board lover, Higgs is the worst chairman this club has ever had, but until someone comes along with a lot of money nothing is going to change. As for those misguided souls who think the club should be run by the fans, I will just say...........Exeter and Wycombe. both in financial trouble, and both in trouble with the FA.
If we start of winning and end up at the top end of the league, most of this will be forgotten. remember this forum is a small minority of fans

Also agree about the Wycombe complaint, I think the board were obliged to do that, so credit goes to them there too. Not sure what this means that an admin of this forum is giving the board credit. This place is going to the dogs, obviously.

Ladies and gents, please be careful what you ask for, you might just get it and find that the grass is not greener on the other side! Unite behind everything rovers, including the board and we will be stronger. The Board have for a long time now encouraged the mindless belief amongst a lot of Gas that if we keep sacking managers eventually the good ol' luck & chemistry will find the right one. We have had every kind of manager under the sun and they all end up getting sacked, mostly then going on to suceed elswhere. Three relegations since 2001 have followed a manager being sacked mid-season. It wasn't the fans that sacked them. Meanwhile I recall GoD a few years ago accusing Gasheads of wanting 'instant success'! What a w***er! I wouldn't say that even about ***t fans. No one follows either Rovers or the pooh because they want 'instant sucess'. What we want is a club run with some degree of competancy that achieves what it is capable of. I think a lot of Rovers fans are indeed a problem, but not because they want 'instant sucess'. Quite the opposite, because they loyally put up with this s***e year after year in the deluded belief that it will all come right in the end, because the board are all Gasheads after all aren't they and when we finally get the right manager and the pie in the sky new stadium finally materialises it will all work out. Dream on. The problem at Rovers is not the managers or the fans or the pasties or this player or that referee or naughty Wycombe/Notts Co cheating- it is in Box 1. As for your last line. Sorry but I have to disagree. The hard, sorry fact is that supporting this regime in their deluded belief that they are in any way fit for purpose is just turkeys voting for Christmas.

Thank you for your comments. You are most welcome. This is a Rovers forum, there will always be differences of opinion. This forum has always been independent of the club. When the club decided to close it's forum down we worked like mad to accept everybody, in fact I will go even further (and no, I do not have a big head) I actively encouraged new members to join. Whilst this was happening, the admin team also worked like mad (considering we all have jobs / are self employed) to get the upgrade to this forum provider. This was not done on a whim but was done because the users of this forum asked for it. None of the admin team have done this for praise, we have done it for the love of the club. I do not agree with everything posted on social media, in fact I have left Rovers based groups because of the libellous claims that some of them make (you will notice they do not stay on here!). I have also pushed that new parts of the forum were opened to accommodate users of the old official forum. I like diddygas sometimes shake my head about what is said of players and managers, but sometimes it has to be said. If they are wrong for the club then say it as long as it is not libellous. In our own way we all care about the club, if we did not we would not be on this forum, but we are also all humans and are going to have different points of view! I guarantee you that whilst I am an admin on here, every member will be given the chance to say what they think (once again as long as it is not libellous or insults other members of the group). Sorry to all if this sounds like a rant, but even admin are allowed their opinions, and after all the hard work Ted and Jeff have put in, I just needed to let some steam off. My last point (sorry this sounds like a party political broadcast) is yes Gasheadblues there are 650 members on here, every single one of them has their own opinions and to label the whole forum as board bashers is a bit nasty, a high percentage and you might be right.
