RIP Brian, one of the Tote End Legends.
You supported the club through thick and thin and only ever wanted what was best for the club despite being shouted down when you let people know anything negative which is most of the time at Rovers.
Covid kills, stay safe one and all.

Used to get on the same minibus as him. Such a funny and sound bloke. RIP Brian.

Brian Williams AKA Tote end on the old club forum. Always seemed to be wearing a rovers shirt and could hold a decent conversation. Another sad loss. Regardless of differing opinion, he was Rovers to the core and Rovers until he died. RIP Gashead. Starting to get a bit fed up of so many passing in such a short time

My own memory of him is of him always seeming to wear a rovers shirt, wherever he went, a bloke who I first saw on the old tote end, when I was first allowed to go there. Long hair and always vocal. Very sad news indeed

I didn’t know Brian but the last thread he created on Gaschat included some very kind words and was strongly supportive of my views which, on hearing this sad news, makes me feel extremely humble.
Over the last few years we exchanged no more that half a dozen PM's about the possibility of the UWE stadium scheme being reborn and of the Fruit Market stadium scheme becoming a reality and his excitement at the prospect of these things happening was palpable.
On the forums we often found ourselves in the same boat with our intentions being misinterpreted and our way of putting things across causing frustration to other posters. But I’m sure anyone who ever gave any thought to what Brian contributed could see that, as Pop Harris has said, he only ever wanted what was best for Rovers.
Rest in Peace Brian

Today is a very sad day, we have lost one of the best. I fully supported Brian's drive to make Rovers a better club even though on a political front we disagreed immensely. People questioned his motives when he informed us of things that were hidden from us but those who knew him knew that his only motives were for the well being of the club that he followed wherever we played.

Brian Williams was always lively at FC shareholders meetings and the Supporters club meetings. Questioning those at the top table on their motives and actjons..another legend in his own lunchtime and sadly a Gashead taken too early by this dreaded covid
RIP and join the other gasheads in the sky including Geoff Dunford and co

I always enjoyed Brian’s wicked and self deprecating sense of humour..Nothing illustrates this better than when a staff nurse wanted to speak to him about resuscitation. a few days ago.His response was quick and to the point.Under no circumstances should be resuscitated if there was a chance he would come back as a Bristol City supporter!

His daughter shared some great anecdotes from him and the thread, on the tote end old boys group, on Facebook makes for a good read. He kept his sense of humour to the the very end. When asked to sign a DNR he said he definitely did not want to be resuscitated, if there was any chance of him coming back as a 💩 head. Very sad loss and also worse, that only 30 can attend his funeral. Not like we can even have a drink somewhere in his memory. Too many true characters passing in too quick a period, it’s getting me down

Whatever your thoughts on his views we will miss his passion and conviction. The Gas need passionate supporters and more of them. Those who challenge and have a desire to see Rovers climb the heights. My heartfelt condolences to his loved ones and friends, may he rest in peace.

Such a shame Geoff 20man got gashead legend Williams mixed up with our former player and full back of the same name.
Even Coughlan left a message with GT that Brian had been helpful with coaching the youngsters at Field Mill and was saddened by his demise
News of Brian Williams the former pro have been grossly exaggerated To be fair Geoff quickly corrected the confusion on Having a gas last night.
