An opportunity for Paul Tisdale to allow his rested players (except Day,Westbrooke and Kilgour)to continue our good progress. None of the fringe players did anything Tuesday to warrant a starting place and I guess Tisdale has now realised his squad might just be about 16 strong I would give Ogogo the benefit of the doubt but others failed to impress and consideration must now be given to loaning them out Difficult under the current circumstances mind you.
Did anyone else hear a rumour Rovers had approached his former club Exeter City for Matty Jay Always rated him after his performance against Rovers in a Checkatrade tie two seasons ago

We have played Charlton 64 times - W22, L23, D19..The last time we won was on the 23rd Feb 2010 in a 2-1 home victory.
In those 10 years and 12 games we have lost 1-5, 4-1 & 3-1, revenge could be sweet on saturday.

Charlton's manager Lee Bowyer's pre-match comments:
“[Our] team picks itself. We’re limited with the players we have got at the moment, through suspension, through injuries. This month is going to be tough, we’ve got a lot of games this month, so the sooner we get people back the better.
"Saturday is going to be a tough game, they’ve had some good results this season and we’re going to have to match them physically.”
Bowyer is not the first opposition manager this season to have said, before playing us, "we're going to have to match them physically".
Does that suggest he hasn't ever seen us? Or is it manager's code for "I don't rate them. They don't stand a chance, unless we take it easy"?

I missed the MK Dons (not allowed football on Boxing Day) & Blackpool and 2 cup games (if you can credit the pizza trophy as a 'cup'). What is the 'likely' line up? I assume Daly still out? Day Ehmer Kilgour Baldwin Leahy Upson Westbrooke Nicholson McCormick Oztumer Hanlan

I don't credit 'Papa John's' as a pizza, let alone a cup.

Only other interpretation is his own team lack any physicality - hardly likely.

Ah - I didn't realise. So Hare to right back? Or Kilgour to RB and Harries to CB (though not sure about Kilgour as a RB or indeed Harries as a CB).

As Geoff Twentymann suggested, this could be a high scoring, open and entertaining game.Athletic playing open football they say.I would of looked forward to being at the Mem for this one.
It seems on our day,we now have team that can give any 3rd tier club a game. Day is a decent GK,that's a lift. Daly available?Would be nice.
Rovers 3 Athletic 1.

What is the problem with Daly? Perfect partner for ball holding Hardon.
Why doesn’t Hare play every week?
Early days to get excited about Day? At the least he should be rusty?

I don't know if Daly has recovered from injury yet.I think he's done very well and would select him. I think Josh Hare a good player and much prefer him to injury prone Little Little has been a poor signing imo. Day is experienced,he's looking in good nick.I'm relieved at present have 2 GKs we can rely on.The whole team will be happy to have a GK playing they can rely on.Breeds confidence.Nothing worse than slogging your guts out, playing and plan going as your Manager coached and predicted, only to lose points because 1 player/GK is - through no fault of their own - not up to it. Demoralising. Day looks a safe pair of hands and it's just what the doctor ordered after Anssi got injured.

Oz can't play against his own team so that's him out too.

Just checked the last time we played them. That was the 0-0 game in 2019 atrocious conditions. Gale force wind blowing (mostly) into the East Stand, where I was sat. I missed being in the Blackthorn Terrace that day.

Leahy - WTF! Headed it a Charlton forward on the 6 yard box. Not clever.
