But who would be left to study Modern Dance Theory at UK universities or Tree Climbing at your very own Cornell University? After a stimulating 30 hour week working on the smartphone production line or engineering component parts for solar powered vehicles I'm sure many folk would like nothing better than to spend some time studying modern dance theory or tree climbing. But these activities have no place in a taxpayer subsidized education system so a perfect home for them would be in the private sector and ideally at a venue such as the Bristol Rovers Sports and Leisure Park. Once people start filling their lives with worthwhile activities, and enjoying the health benefits and sense of satisfaction these bring, they are unlikely to choose to go looking for grievances or have any desire to take part in anti social behavior. I can see trouble ahead. This sounds far too close to cultural appropriation of Amazonian dancing folk.

Interesting to read about groups gathering in a large city like Bristol or London. I had to pick up and deliver books today in Wareham to people confined to their homes, a very small market town in Dorset and the streets were empty and the odd people who were about had face masks on and people are, by and large, social distancing, wearing masks and staying at home. Perhaps it’s a different attitude in a large city compared to a small town where most people appear to be keeping largely to the rules. But the rate has still rocketed over the past few weeks since Christmas which was inevitable after opening everything up for the week over Christmas. Very little chance for spectators now to watch any football in Bristol this season or probably anywhere.

To my knowledge there were anti-lockdown protests in Bournemouth on Dec 19th and also last Saturday, so it's not just the bigger Towns and Cities.

Every village has an idiot and many of those are law breakers and conspiracy theory individuals who promote there is no virus and genuinely believe Trump secured another term in office.
I personally can vouch for the amazing care I was shown in my very recent treatment in the Bristol Royal infirmary and the dedication of these wonderful staff who literally saved my life.

In Cheddar we have the " usual " prats in their modified or improved cars converging at the Gorge regularly, this week saw 7 given fines for traffic and distancing offences, and at the local skate board park near the reservoir, just very full with at least 30 youths ,this also isa regular occurrence despite albiet a loosely pinned notice saying it is ' out of bounds'

Here we go. As mentioned on a different thread, had to take an elderly relative who lives in the Clifton area for her 2nd jab yesterday, that involved driving across The Downs, this is what was going on at Sea Walls at around 2-30 yesterday afternoon. We are a nation infested with morons. Because we have the YouTube and Facebook exerts, with no medical experience, who are causing doubt. I am dumbfounded as the utter morons out there Based on the medical definitions below they are definitely idiots not morons: Idiots. —Those so defective that the mental development never exceeds that or a normal child of about two years.Imbeciles. —Those whose development is higher than that of an idiot, but whose intelligence does not exceed that of a normal child of about seven years. Morons. —Those whose mental development is above that of an imbecile, but does not exceed that of a normal child of about twelve years. From Merriam Webster: www.merriam-webster.com/words-at-play/moron-idiot-imbecile-offensive-history

There are a lot of people who just have blatant disregard for their neighbour.

The people not abiding by Government guidelines reflects a society with a significant degree of selfishness, not a lack of intelligence.

The Met claim they have evidence of raves, parties, gambling dens et al. So yes, a lot of selfishness in evidence. However, my 3 sons live with my wife and I - no alternative. But they have to work as would be sacked if they didn't turn up. It's a problem.

I wasn't trying to start a dispute, just pointing out that these gatherings of Virus deniers and lockdown protesters are happening all over the country, not just the major towns and cities.

Can't believe Chinese takeaways are still getting away with cash only. Money has been proven to pass on the virus. Continuing to screw the government by not paying tax isn't a good enough reason to possibly passing on the virus. They should be closed down along with most kebab shops who also insist on cash only as to avoid paying tax. By the way my favourite Chinese is beef with green pepper in black bean sauce. My favourite kebab a large mixed. Happy New year.

Tesco, Asda and Waitrose have become the latest supermarkets to say they will deny entry to shoppers who do not wear face masks unless they are medically exempt.
It follows a similar move by Morrisons, while Sainsbury's says it will challenge those who flout the rules.
Retailers have been criticised for not doing enough to stop people breaking Covid rules as infections spread.
But enforcement of face coverings is officially a police responsibility.
However, supermarkets can deny entry to their premises which is private property, and can call the police if someone refuses to follow the rules or becomes abusive.
Senior police figures have reportedly said there is little officers can do to enforce the rules in shops because they are so busy.

The UK is to close all travel corridors from Monday morning to "protect against the risk of as yet unidentified new strains" of Covid, the PM has said.
Anyone flying into the country from overseas will have to show proof of a negative Covid test before setting off.
It comes as a ban on travellers from South America and Portugal came into force on Friday over concerns about a new variant identified in Brazil.
Boris Johnson said the new rules would be in place until at least 15 February.
A further 1,280 people with coronavirus have died in the UK within 28 days of a positive test, taking the total to 87,291.
Meanwhile, more than two million people around the world have now died with the virus since the pandemic began, according to figures from Johns Hopkins University.
