Best odds (generally available) as follows: Wigan 4-7 Burton 11-10 Northampton 5-4 Rochdale 11-8 Shrewsbury 6-4 Swindon 2-1 The Gas 2-1 Gillingham 3-1 Wimbledon 4-1 Then quite a big jump to MK Dons at 9-1. So effectively a 9 horse race with Wigan clear favourites. Very tight for the next 8. I am not promoting betting. I just find it interesting where the money is going - and the odds reflect that.

I thought we were a good bet at 20/1 to finish top 6?

I put a tenner on us making the top six.
At the moment I can cash in the bet for 26p, think I might take it.

Worth considering who of that lot we have or will beat.

UPDATE Dec 3rd Wigan 4-7 (0.57) tightening 3-10 (0.3) Burton 11-10 (1.1) tightening 10-11 (0.91) Northampton 5-4 (1.25) unch 5-4 (1.25) Rochdale 11-8 (1.375) widening 7-4 (1.75) Shrewsbury 6-4 (1.5) tightening 6-5 (1.2) Swindon 2-1 (2) widening 9-4 (2.25) The Gas 2-1 (2) tightening 6-4 (1.5) Gillingham 3-1 (3) widening 8-1 (8) Wimbledon 4-1 (4) widening 8-1 (8) Now Plymouth at 10-1 (10) So looking more like a 7 horse race... If we lose at Wimbledon (which sadly I think we will) we'll be evens. Good luck Mr Tisdale. (Wimbledon generally 6-5, the draw 9-4, The Gas 9-4)

Its interesting.
The promotion prices perfect where the money goes, thus Sunderland and pompey will always be the amongst the shortest prices even if they are poor.
But who backs relegation? Ive backed us for promotion before bit wouldnt back us to go down, i suspect more city fans would back that than any other group.
Quite a small book i think.

PT will sort it out - Team misfiring and low on confidence - We are going to get an early goal in the next game or two - Then watch us kick on - We will not have to worry about relegation - I've only bet against my team once before - Never again! - Don't forget 2000 fans will be firing up the boys shortly and they will turn into men overnight - Covid football is not the real thing - When all you can hear is a fat old bellend effing and blinding - Players need passionate fans willing then on - Keep the faith and ' Get behind them' UTG

The league table never lies and stark stat to consider we have won just THree times during 2020.
Covid helped Ben stay in charge longer and I personally support Tisdale he is a superb choice.

I agree and fully support the appointment of Tisdale as a perfect fit considering his background and experience. Well done BOD, however, I can only see relegation this season due to the age/experience of the players he has inherited and the lack of finance to buy. There must be no panic if relegation happens because the record of Tisdale is such that I am sure he will achieve promotion in 2021/2 or the following year if he gets the players he needs. His record shows he knows how to win given a free reign but is he capable of managing in the Championship?, I hope he gets the chance to show us.

I know absolutely nothing about betting but that list would seem to imply that the bookies at least have us in a kind of 2nd tier of relegation candidates rather than the 1st tier.

From the original 9 (10 with Plymouth) "in the race"... Shrews, Gills and Janners look to be clear of trouble. Then a clear 6 at around evens or odds-on: Wigan, N'ton, Burton all consistently bottom third. Add to that Rochdale, Wombles and Swindle. And then The Gas, kind of on our own. IMHO - it would take a really disastrous run to trouble the relegation slots. With key players back, I think we'll be OK. But I'd take a guaranteed 20th now. UTG.

I know absolutely nothing about betting but that list would seem to imply that the bookies at least have us in a kind of 2nd tier of relegation candidates rather than the 1st tier. It mean the punters, not the bookies, have us there. The odds reflect the amount of money staked, rather than an opinion. If you were to walk into a bookies tomorrow and place a million pound bet on Rovers to be relegated, then the odds would shorten dramatically as the bookie you placed the bet with, would try and cover any potential losses by betting on the same outcome with other bookies, who would, in turn, do the same.
