I've got literally no interest in attending until this is all over. Do you mean the pandemic or the season? I meant the pandemic, but now you've floated the idea...

I'm confused- I thought the limit was 4000? Bristol is going up to a higher Covid zone so number of fans is halfed from 4000 to 2000 Ah I see. I'm afraid I have totally lost track on Covid regulations.

I'm afraid I have totally lost track on Covid regulations. Think Bristol will be Tier 3, higher rates than Liverpool or Manchester now. We ain’t going to be in the Mem this year.

Regarding attending, it's all academic for me, as for the first time in decades I didn't renew my season ticket. Obviously some people are keen to attend- even with restrictions- but it's just not for me. Rovers is a day out for me and so much more to it than just a football match. In a similar vein, am I the only one hoping for a mediocre season with no big FA Cup ties? Well, I know I'm not actually because I bumped into a mate last week who thought the same. I would hate for us to be drawn away somewhere like Old Trafford if we can't attend.

I said exactly this on the last FA Cup thread and got rinsed for it by people who seemiingly have a very rational view of things.
I've been a regularly attending Rovers fan since 1993. In that time we've had 2/3 pretty decent FA cup runs but never really had the 'blockbuster draw'. It's one of the few things about football that still gives me that certain childish excitment - ie. watching the draw from the 3rd round onwards hoping we get a big team and it's never happened. If it happens this year I will be genuinely gutted.

I'd like a nice run to the fifth round beating the likes of Chorley, Morecambe, Lincoln City and Sevenage before being dumped out by Shrewsbury. All the money, none of the fun.

Whether its viable to make the Mem Covid safe with only 2000 spectators will depend on who the club decides should get priority season ticket holders or paying spectators.
As It's inconceivable not to give season ticket holders first refusal, but also to help the clubs current dire cashflow, all spectators whether season ticket holders or none season ticket holders should expect to pay @ £30 per ticket. Even allowing for the cost of getting the fans into the ground safely etc the club should still clear 50k for all the home games played on this basis. Sesson ticket holders should then be compensated with money off when purchasing seasons tickets for the 2220/21 Campaign.
After suffering 10 minutes of Man U at home this week to West Brom with no fans, pretend crowd noises and zero amosphere its no wonder Man U's home form this season has been wretched, therefore It is vital for us to get home fans into the Mem, because even with only 2000 the noise generatied will nevertheless help inspire the team to get the maximum out of the players which will inhance our chances of avoiding a possible relegation battle.
UTG.

4,000 or 2,000 - even if we could open the ground it would be a bit of a logistical headache.
Most of the seats are taken up by season ticket holders, so it would be extremely difficult to accommodate all in the stands socially distanced. The chances of getting your normal seat would be extremely low, and a large proportion of stand season ticket holders would have to move to other areas of the ground and stand on the terraces.

Hopefully when clubs are allowed to have fans back in they'll also continue with ifollow. Living where I do its not easy getting down to the Mem and I'd have to say that even though we've been fairly rubbish I do look forward to watching each and every game.

That the government want to put any football supporters together in grounds this year blows my tiny mind, although I think they've lost there's. Forget symptoms, isolate index cases, then test every one of their contacts, and start vaccinating care workers and anyone who might die, as soon as possible. Happy to go to the Mem with 10,000 other vaccinated gasheads. Until that time, get real.

I was looking at a list of which clubs would be allowed to have fans and how many. Every club had a number attached apart from Newport where it mysteriously said 'Newport County are awaiting clarity'. If they manage find any would they be so kind as to let the rest of us know please?!
