Could someone explain to me what a 'sensory room' is please and why I would want to use one at Rovers? "This will help create a safe space for everyone to enjoy match day and encourage a welcoming and inclusive community environment for all football fans" [Official site - my italics]. From the online Q&A in July, Tom Gorringe explained that, whilst we have a number of bars, which clearly a lot of Rovers fans enjoy, they can - in his words, if I remember rightly - be "a bit rowdy". Believe it or not, there might be some existing Rovers supporters, or - dare I say - potential Rovers supporters, who would prefer somewhere a little different and non-alcoholic to spend the hour or two before kick off. Maybe they might even spend some money in that time as well. I seem to remember that Tom said that he recognised that, if you didn't go to one of the bars, you either went straight to your place in the ground and watched the players warming up for half an hour, or you arrived with 5 to 10 minutes to spare. The sensory room, as I understand it, is primarily aimed at families and is an attempt to address the lack of alternative ways to enjoy the time before kick off. He also mentioned something about a place to play computer / video games (is that still a phrase - sorry!) - although whether I'm mixing that up with the sensory room, I'm not sure.

Chocolate bars being handed out to kids to get them hooked on sugar not healthy in my opinion!
Better to be sponsored by the Fruit market far healthier!

See, he's not such a monster. I was going to post about Gasheads feeling more at home in a nonsensory room but that stopped me in my tracks.

Could someone explain to me what a 'sensory room' is please and why I would want to use one at Rovers? BGasg has just given a link that explains what a sensory room is which is helpful. I’m sure you might not want to use one irish but many families may well find one useful and really helpful if any family members are on the autistic spectrum and who may struggle in a large, noisy and boisterous football crowd. Obviously don’t know how Rovers plan to use it or if it will be staffed before, during or after a match but for many it will be very good news. Usually find them in larger schools which cater for children with Special Educational Needs or disabilities and the rooms will be equipped to create a soothing, restful and peaceful environment for children’s touch, view, hearing and even smelling senses. Hence a Sensory Room. Well done Wael and Rovers imo. UTG!

Good work Rovers.

I'm too intelligent for this forum. I can't believe I ever fell for The Kegan Degg Hoax.
