I am very sad to say.,
After 18 years with Bristol Rovers FC.
Due to the academy restructure. I will be leaving my role with Bristol Rovers FC as Head of Academy Recruitment.
I have over the years had the pleasure in scouting some very talent young footballers.
I am leaving Bristol Rovers and over my time with the academy,
I have personally scouted 37 players who have develop through Bristol Rovers FC academy to earn pro contracts and 9 currently in the 1st teams squad along with 14 players who are current in the academy u18s squad.
I would like to thank the Staff and academy scouts for all your help and would like to wish them all the best in the future.
I hope I will be back soon working in the job i love..

Sorry to hear about re structure as you appear to be very good at your job.
Good luck with whatever you decide to do in the future and hopefully see you back again one day if there's another restructuring that's more sensible.
Take care UptheGas..

Somebody educate me, please. Registered Gas Guzzler since 2015. First post today, announcing departure. Club website advertising an academy job. Gasfootball's name not shown to me. The very best of luck in new employment.

OS: Due to Academy restructuring Alex Hinder is leaving his role as Head of Academy recruitment after 18 years working for the Club.We would all like to place on record our thanks to Alex for his hard work in helping so many players come through the door and flourish, many of whom have gone on to make their debuts for the Club.If that's all, it appears pretty shoddy, obviously he (gasfootball above) sounds a bit hacked off. We do not know the new structure, but a 25hr PT job, Part Time Academy Operations Manager /Designated Safeguarding Officer, on £15k has been advertised, the job spec is mammoth. www.bristolrovers.co.uk/news/2020/september/academy-job-advert/

Perhaps 37 pros developed in 18 years is not good enough. I feel the ethos of developing young talent and selling it off to raise funds is way club is going. Lockyer Meneyase Clarke Broom just four who were produced and sold for peanuts.

The other side is up until recently money had not been needed for say the likes of Lockyer and Clarke, but yep our tag of being a selling club has slipped.

We didn't get a penny for Lockyer did we Harry?
I thought he walked at the end of his contract?
Then a year later walked out on Charlton after playing every game (apart from 3 where he was suspended) in a season where they got relegated.
Meneyase and Broom, any kind of fee for those would be a bonus. Ollie Clarke, that's all down to Garner having paid no attention whatsoever to the work he does off of the ball to stop the opposition playing. I would swap Ollie for Garner in the blink of an eye.

Ollie was offered a contract and a testimonial, one year contract. Mansfield offered longer. Don't know what was said about game time.

I'll stick my neck out and say that Garner is being paid more than we offered Ollie, and has a longer contract. One helped us win games, the other seems Hell bent on doing everything in his power to make sure we lose them. One has some idea what's going on in L1, the other doesn't. I would swap Ollie for Garner in the blink of an eye.

I'm actually happy that Newco are a bit better this season, it's got a bit tedious winning 9 in a row with no real competition.

I would prefer it if Aberdeen or Hibs stepped up to the plate. Much better for them to think they could win the Title with half a dozen games left and then have to settle for second or third place. It's the hope that kills you.
