In March, I did a 5km Swimathon and some of you very kindly supported me in raising a shed load for Cancer Research UK and Marie Curie. In 27 days, a friend and I will be thinking "what on earth made us do this?" as we run/stumble around Victoria Park (BS3)for 10km, hopefully in a time of around 1 hour. For those of you who are proper runners, that's easy. For us who started a few months ago, it's hell. 😁 If you would like to and are able to donate to Cancer Research UK, it would be hugely appreciated. Thank you. fundraise.cancerresearchuk.org/page/grants-very-2020-race-for-lifeWishing you all the very best.

Wishing you all the very best. Thank you! All I can say is endurance swimming is way more fun. 🙂 I actually envy you as I am unable to train. Long story but end result is me being extremely ill. My immune system must be suppressed or it attacks me. I’d love to get back to some kind of physical stuff.

Good luck, lost my brother in law in Nov 2018 to cancer at the age of 51, a real shock and has left a huge hole in the family. He was a gashead too.
Also my sister at the age of 23 in 1992.
You're doing a great thing.

I don't want a Gas Guzzler without Faustus and Spencer. Sort it out, Admin.

I don't blame anybody.
epping made what would usually be just a passing comment, nothing unpleasant compared to what's regularly said on here without anybody commenting on it, but Grant is sensitised to the subject, with good reason. It's just a misunderstanding / miscommunication with no malice or ill will from either side.
Hopefully Grant will be back when he's ready.

You know Angas I just find it quite sad that all of us are apparently in the mature group and yet one divisive thread can upset some to the point of deleting their profiles. I gravitated here due to the early days of gaschat, being full of personal attack, outright hate filled vitriol and more. I found this place both interesting and I learned a great deal as, it’s undeniable that there are some very erudite posters and I always enjoy learning and even being picked up on grammar etc. I just hope those that left, decide to come back. I do have to say, for the sake of being pertinent, that gaschat is totally different now but I still feel more at home, here. I hope this finds you well & happy

I don’t want to read it to be honest. I think there is hurt in some and we all have things going on in our reality that can make us react in a totally different manner to our normal selves, whatever this normal thing is 😂

I don’t want to read it to be honest. I think there is hurt in some and we all have things going on in our reality that can make us react in a totally different manner to our normal selves, whatever this normal thing is 😂 It was just one of those things KP, without trawling back and finding exactly what was said, honestly, it was something and nothing. Grant wrote something, it included him saying something that could be taken more than 1 way, and with no intonation it wasn't possible to know what was in Grant's head when he wrote it, epping replied to one possible meaning, Grant was upset by what epping wrote. I think that's what happened anyway. Given the reason that Grant is raising these funds and how positive he's been saying the challenge has been making him feel, with the benefit of hindsight, maybe epping was a bit careless with his words, but we need to be fair here and say, hands up anybody who hasn't ever written something that could possibly be taken the wrong way and who wouldn't, given the opportunity, like to write that message again? First and foremost, I hope that Grant is OK, secondly, I hope he's back on here sooner rather than later.

Bambi speaks sense shocker! 'Shocker' is harsh. Do you not remember his reply to absent at the start of the 2010-11 season? That one was almost coherent.

I can't say that I recognise that description of myself. After reading this unprovoked assault on my character I'll be taking a short break from posting on here, whilst I go back through the 2010-11 season's posts, find anything that's even close to coherent and edit it.
