With a finite time left for extension ruling on our transition period with EU, does anyone have any thoughts on whether the Bosman ruling still applies affecting our club and others if freedom of movement is not applicable next year?
Or any other implications?

Or any other implications? Wasn't that an EU ruling that UEFA accepted? Therefore we have to stay in line with UEFA regardless... probably.

I just wonder if it affects (generally) premier and championship clubs because they have a far bigger influx of non national players, the effects (of obtaining work permit, maybe?) may trickle down to our level eventually.. Which will accentuate the plan now to grow your own.

The impact it had in FM20 is a struggle for work permits, and if you did get one you struggled to keep the player at end of contract. First of all though all current contracts were honoured, so the problem is end of contract not January. a good way of assessing impact would be to apply it historically to see what it would have done to our team? Would our current goalkeeper, who we have all built confidence in, require work permit come end of contract? Maybe all our goal keepers? Jono too, unless you can play for international side other than England and not need work permit?

I would say most campaigns have seen us finish here. I agree with contract end, not end of the year change but if freedom of movement is an issue, the impact to clubs is significant.

I genuinely don’t if the answer to these questions Is merely likely losing registration of these people for nothing at end of current contract if not renewed before January, which is sort of similar to status quo, or would not have them here in first place under the new system, that would be worse than status quo, as how often would we grow our own Jono? Anyone know The answers?
