Good shout over Workington. They beat us at Eastville in March 1967 0-1 when we were looking for promotion. They went down. Some things don’t change. 😉 Hope Barrow come back as well. For some reason I like those northern outposts, a triumph of hope over adversity I think. And of course Torquay, I’d like to see them come back. For voting purposes I’ll stick local and go Torquay. UTG!
ps. Great idea basel for a thread.

There are a loads I want back in with unapologetic Northern bias!
If we were doing this US franchise style then I'd kick out the following;
Crawley Stevenage Salford FGR MK Dons
and replace with;
Stockport (Jim Gannon withstaning they are my main priority as I can walk there from my house!)
Notts County Wrexham Halifax York

You like your northern clubs irish, which I can understand knowing your location. In that list that you’d replace I suspect that the northern clubs probably have far better attendances than those in the south (with the exception of MKD.) Stockport’s crowds have been maintained haven’t they and they are least on an upward climb and I would be expecting them to put in a big challenge next season and have a real go at promotion. UTG!

Torquay United, first club i seen play against the Rovers @eastville , recall one away day there as the tide was coming in so the mass of rovers fans on the beach playing footy ..in one large lump!! became more and more squashed

I grew up in Cardiff and remember the great Wrexham teams of the late 70s early 80s with Dixie McNeil and later Barry Horne scoring the winner in the Cup Winners Cup I think in 85? They've been gone too long but amazing they're still around. An institution. Also the Racecourse saw Wales beat England 4-1 in 1980 just before the Euros in the British Championship. Those games are mostly on YouTube and are brilliant. Well worth a look
