So a difficult match at London road today against a high scoring Peterborough side. Who remembers that 5-4 defeat covered by Sky Sports,? Would take a point today hopefully Jaakkola back in goal today. Anyone recommend a decent pub near the stadium ?

not the easiest of trips, road wise or playing, but will take a little more hope into this after the Sunderland game, looking bit GC'esk and taking a comfortable point 2-2 JCH[pen] and Rodman.

I suggested boycotting this fixture due to £28 cost of pay on the day and Peterborough having very little to recommend itself. I never realised that the initial suggestion would have such a profound effect.

Yea that pub barge on the river..
Can't see anything less than a heavy defeat today. Pay over the odds for a wooden seat from the 50s. The place is about as posh as a Hartcliffe high rise mansion.
It's a good away day out, but ultimately we just seem to avoid to win alot!

(Just to prove I wasn't making it up - written Jul 29, 2018 at 9:52am): I always do my very best to see the first and last game of the season. However this time - I am boycotting this game. £26 is too much for tier 3 football (I presume rising to £28 pay on the day). I am not going to any away game that charges £25 or more. End of. The only way to make a difference is to not go. (Note the average price of a Premiership away ticket is £26.50). I know there are some die-hards who watch every game - and fair play to them. I watch around 6-8 away games a season - Peterborough is definitely not going to be one of them.

Sounds like 1500 gasheads travelling to support Ben and the Boys which is tremendous support with the petrol rationing in Bristol.
Jaakkolla starting after his long lay off. Tom Nichols recalled from Cheltenham and will start in midfield alongside Hargreaves and Barrett.
Fitness doubt about JCH who has shoulder problems and Ollie Clarke has isolated himself with a cold but still travels. Tony Craig is travelling direct from Millwall and Rovers youth striker Phillips makes the bench.

It's accessible by train, only a short walk to the ground from the station, it's a(n) historic city and there's a pub on a barge on the river! (See my pics from the last three away days in Peterborough). I'm so glad I spent £40 on my Advanced (non-refundable) train tickets for today's game, plus the match ticket, of course. ^ Click on the image ^. Clockwise from top left: Charters, excellent pub on the River Nene; Peterborough's 900-year-old cathedral; the Butter Cross (site of historic dairy market); the River Nene; the Cathedral again, in the distance; the 1950's wooden seats (very similar to those at Eastville, one of which I have in my garden); swans; Gasheads in the beer garden of the Charters pub/barge; ecclesiastical decorations; a cappuccino.

Peterborough thread says they are winning 4-0 with 72% possession but game abandoned due to the sky darkening with swarms of Satan's minions, for which Ollie Clarke was booked, followed by a Zombie attack.
