Good evening Ladies & Gents
Before the Rovers v Ipswich Town match on Sat 14 March a fundraiser in memory of the life and careers of two Rovers legends
Stuart Taylor & Lindsay Parsons who sadly died recently of Dementia will take place.
The event takes place 1230-230pm in Supporters Club bar at the Mem. There will be an exhibition of photos and memorabilia.
Guests attending are former Rovers players Paul Randall, Tom Stanton, Graham Day and former manager Russell Osman (who is an Ipswich legend) plus members of the Taylor and Parsons families.
A raffle is being organised by the Bristol History Group. We want volunteers on day to sale raffle tickets. Please try and support this event on the day.
Many Thanks
Best Wishes
Mike Jay

I'm sure there are many Rovers supporters, particularly from the 60s & 70s, who won't be at the Ipswich game, or in the Supporters Club bar who would like to remember these two stalwarts by donating.

From Sophie Hirst South West Fundraiser for Dementia UK
"Dementia UK provides specialist dementia support for families through our Admiral Nurse service. When things get challenging or difficult for people with dementia and their families, Admiral Nurses work alongside them. They give the compassionate one-to-one support, guidance and practical solutions people need, and that can be hard to find elsewhere. Admiral Nurses are continually trained, developed and supported by Dementia UK. Families that have their support have someone truly expert and caring by their side. They are a lifeline helping families to live more positively with dementia in the present, and to face the challenges of tomorrow with more confidence and less fear. We believe that everyone who needs the support of a specialist dementia nurse should get one, and we’re working hard to increase the number of Admiral Nurses across the UK. We receive no government funding and are entirely reliant on donations, including from people who leave us gifts in their Wills".

Looking for help ? On the day we need some more gasheads to go around the stadium and sale some raffle tickets. Can you spare 30-45 minutes to do this to helpraise funds for this tremendous charity and to honour former legends Stuart Taylor and Lindsay Parsons ?
You will need to contact Hilary Lewis on the day 1230-145pm in the Rovers Supporters Club bar. Many Thanks

With the postponement on Saturday obviously the fundraiser was a victim we had sold £50 worth of raffle tickets prior to the event. We hope to rearrange this event to honour Stuart and Lindsay once this virus epedemic is over. Let's hope it is before end of April. Thanks to those who bought raffle tickets I'm advance. We will update in due course.

We will update in due course. As someone who lost his mother to this evil disease, I would try to help when things are back to how they were. I won’t be donating as I have a monthly DD set up with the charity. I would ask others to consider this as it’s something many will come to view, up close and personal. It absolutely terrifies me as no one can say if it can be hereditary or not and everything mum had, I would also suffer from. It was the hardest of deaths one can imagine, vets would not allow a pet to go this way. I won’t go into grizzly detail as it scares me that much, probably the only thing that does now. Please donate as much as you can or give monthly, if you can

Sympathies to you KP. I'm going through the same now with my Mum. It's cruel. No one can prepare others for it. It’s much more evil than any words I could use. I am still scarred by it now. It was the most cruel and evil thing I have ever seen and been close to. I’m more scared of this than any other thing. I wish you both all the very best.
