Maybe a bit of a selfish question given the circumstances, but does anybody have any idea when BG is due back?
I think it is vital for the club and for him that he comes back asap and we are not stuck in limbo for ages.

I think it's fair to say that what he might be dealing with, and the potential effects on other people, can be quite unpredictable
So I think we shouldn't worry about silly old football, and just wish him and his all the best for as long as it takes
Players will be turning up and doing their best while he's not in the building, and while he's not in the building he's on the other end of the phone

Absolutely. He should be concentrating on his family but according to BRFC he is in daily contact over the phone so he is performing a heavily impaired version of the role which, given our results does not seem to helping us.
So what is stopping the club from making an interim appointment? Should the club even do that? *Will* the club be looking to do that?

If he is not back by end of this week, we should ask Chris Hargreaves to be Interim Manager. He is the only one with Managerial experience.

from the OS...
We are pleased to report that Manager Ben Garner has returned to first-team duties, ahead of Saturday’s fixture against Fleetwood Town.
The Rovers Manager returned to the training base at Cribbs F.C on Wednesday morning, as the squad continue preparations for Saturday’s Sky Bet League One fixture at the Mem against Fleetwood Town.
Speaking about his return Ben said, “I would like to thank everyone for the messages of support both myself and my family have received during what has been a difficult time.
"As a family, we very much appreciate that our privacy was respected & would be thankful for this continuing to be the case moving forward.
“My thanks goes to the owners, the players, the staff, & the entire Gas family for their support and understanding.
"Fortunately I have been able to return to work today and our full focus is now on the match against Fleetwood on Saturday.”

Without doubt or ambiguity, excellent news for him, with the additional bonus of returning players and new recruits.

Incoming manager did 'authority' whilst Garner was all laptops, stop watches and endless talking sessions?

According to Megson, they needed "bouncy" people at the club. With an idiotic outlook like that, he'd be popular with those on here and the Facebook "appreciation" site who wanted to appoint pantomime chimpanzee Ollie as manager, because he has "passion".

With respect I think GC proved that personality is a big factor, especially in the lower leagues. GC got this lot winning games from day one with our ability to run through brick walls a major factor, whilst using the most basic bitch tactics imaginable. Garner, for all his progressive ideas, has so far been unable to replicate GC’s success with the same players so until he does I can only conclude that perhaps Megson may just have had a point....

Massive day for BG Saturday, I wouldn't want to be in his shoes if the result is not favourable. I get the feeling that we could be waving goodbye to some of our senior players over the next 8 days. Sercombe leaving changed before half the west stand had left after the Donny game is a message I'm sure.

And is it working for GC at Mansfield? No, but it’s irrelevant to the point which is that binning Garner off for not having the correct personality was an outrageous decision. My point is that personality *can* play a very important part in motivating players so Megson was perhaps not so wide of the mark in his appraisal...

Maybe but he also worked under Pulis, who no one would call a laptop manager would they
