Death spiral. Quite amusing really. I really do fear a sinister and total collapse of BRFC as a third division club. Eagerly, I await the rescue measure from Dwane Sports. Can't be arsed to get too worked up about it. I might go and join the ex-Rovers fan who used to go home and away dressed as pirate down at Bristol Manor Farm as he appears to be their number 1 fan now. On second thoughts....maybe not. 🤣

The players didn't just wake up one day and decide not to care any more, something has happened, maybe related to the last manager leaving. The owners need to sort this out, PDQ. I don't understand how GC's issues weren't discussed pre season and also pre 2 and a half year contract. I blame him massively, he's sold us down the river, when managers talk about loyalty and having time and support, he had it in bundles from Rovers. He won a contract ahead of Garner and Cotterill last year. The players surely can remember how to try. Someone suggested on here that maybe what unsettled the last manager was the club sniffing around after Garner. No idea if that's correct, but it would join all of the dots nicely and would explain the squad being a bit miffed. I understand that the players didn't particularly like the last manager, but together they had a winning formula.

Hey great to see all the lads rallied round in the time of desperation and threw everything to help defend the new manager in his time of need ...

I've got some good news. We know we're in a vicious death spiral - but the bookies don't. Rovers are still 200-1 to go down. I'm not saying they definitely will. But I think the odds should be 1/10th of that (if not tighter). For the price of a Supporters Club pint you could earn yourself £840.

We can concentrate on play offs / relegation battle now Ok arry we get the message 9 points, 3 wins could be enough to secure safety. Meanwhile, with coco’s walk out, the club have gone into a transition mode, Nichols, and others told they are not wanted come February in a long needed clear out, new faces to come in to a 4 4 2 formation. in such circumstances this flip flop of form is perfectly reasonable. Us fans are in a good place, no relegation, at least not this year, no promotion, at least unlikely, exciting 4 4 2 possession football to be gradually worked on ready for next season. Let others sweat both ends of table, embrace mid table and beginning of an upward curve. You cannot be an adventurer without an unknown to explore. We are Venturing forth together into unknown territory. Each and every one of us venturing now into this new landscape, guided by our hearts, our love, our faith in our club. Let your blue and white heart beat with ours, let us travel this way together. God bless you, and God bless the united fans of Bristol Rovers. UTG

Confidence is shot to pieces, the players are demoralised and confused. They spent a full year showing coughlan what a great bunch they are and coughlan spent the same year telling everyone what great hard working lads they are.
The new manager made mistakes and now sadly has a serious family to deal with. I think the owner is in a difficult situation and just needs to wait for garner to return and hope his vision for rovers is viable. In the meantime its a big worry trying to restore confidence in the team for maher.

Let's deal with the relegation thing.
53 points is on average what's been needed over the last 10 years to be safe in L1, but this season we have the weirdness of 3 down and 2 of them on 10 pts or less by now.
IMO there is one place up for grabs.
We have 22 games left as do most of the league. Blackpool are also in free fall.
Tranmere currently occupy 3rd bottom on 22 pts.
53 might not be enough as everyone is taking points off Bolton and Southend.
We are currently on 36, needing 6 wins at least.
Tranmere would need 31 more pts to get 53, that's a tall order for them i feel.
Should be ok but it might be close, especially if the current run and mentality continues.

If we are seriously calculating relegation points, ill join and say 4 wins and a draw will be plenty this year.

We are half way through the season and in the space of a couple of weeks we have gone from talking about automatic promotion to a relegation fight, that is astounding even by Rovers standards.

Owner has shown no urgency re ground or spending realistic money on quality players. GC had a brand of football that was not attractive but grinded out results. Discipline has gone and didn't see any enthusiasm from the players. Motivation will be the biggest challenge Ben will have to face. Can only hope things improve.
